“Beautiful and friendly”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

We absolutely loved staying here and as soon as we walked through the door regretted only staying for the one night.

Pam and her staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and has everything you would want from a B&B room and to top it all off the place has the most AMAZING views.

We went in off season so it was fairly quiet and obviously less expensive. We felt it was great value for money.

This B&B is perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and the whale room has two picture windows with views of the sea. We watched four dolphins surf a wave into shore from our room. The proprietor is extremely helpful and had lots of tips for us and always welcomed us back with an offer of tea or beer. Breakfast was hearty if a bit uninspired, though.

We stayed one night in the Whale Suite, an absolutely beautiful room with great views over the ocean and Robberg Beach. Agree with the other reviews, Pam is a wonderful host and will make you feel at home and comfortable. Highly reccomended!!!

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night in April. The view was stunning, our room (Whale Suite) was lovely. We arrived mid afternoon, were shown to our room. As far as I can see our welcomer was waiting for us and went home after we arrived (having answered all our initial questions). We saw nobody (other than other guests) on the premises till breakfast time the next morning. Breakfast was on the sundeck, a little flag on your table showing your nationality was (possibly?) a nice touch.

This place is an absolute dream. The wonderful sunny deck has the most amazing views over Robberg Beach. We had 6 nights here and were so sorry to leave. Pam, the owner is a gem. So friendly and helpful but without being obstrusive. .All rooms open from patio doors on to the deck where Breakfast was served . Beautiful laid out tables with white cloths and lovely china and a really great breakfast with cereals and fresh fruit followed by a delicious cooked breakfast . Pam also provided a fridge for the sole use of guests which was really useful to chill wine and to keep fruit etc to eat mid day should you opt to return at lunchtime for a snack on deck. Comfortable loungers and chairs were also there for all to use. There was also a very cosy lounge for the use of guests which we used quite often if we had eaten early and returned at a time too early for bed. It was such a lovely cosy bed too and so quiet, just the sounds of the sea to send us off to sleep. Absolute bliss. We shall certainly return and tell all our friends about this amazing place.

A 5 minute walk took you to Robberg Beach which is lovely soft sand and amazing views all around.

Room Tip: We had the Dolphin Room because it was all that was available for the dates we wanted. Although sma...

I stayed here for three nights with my boyfriend in February and I couldn't believe our luck when we got to our room. We stayed in the whale room - which I highly recommend - and it has unbelievable views over Robberg Beach (about 1/3 of the room is floor-to-ceiling windows). The room is large and very nice, but its best feature is definitely the views.

The B&B has a great little terrace where they serve breakfast, also with great views. The breakfast was great with a choice of hot or cold and lots of fruit. The staff are very friendly.

It's extremely close to the beach (about a 20 second walk from the front door), which is gorgeous. It's quite a bit further into town (about a 25 minute walk) and although it would've been nice to stay closer, the main shops and restaurants are the top of a very steep hill, so realistically you'd want it to drive in from most accommodations. On the plus side, it's on a very quiet and relaxing stretch of beach and if you do decide to walk in, it's do-able and a very pretty walk (we did it several times). Taxis back are quite cheap (we paid 40 rand, but that might be more than the going rate!)

Great experience overall and would definitely recommend this.

Room Tip: The views from the whale room are beautiful!

We had a fantastic vacation in Plettenberg Bay - mostly thanks to Dolphins' Playground Beachfront B & B. Great location overlooking the beach only 2 minutes away, great facilities, great breakfast and great hospitality. All in all: Phenomenal!

Room Tip: Some rooms have better views of the beach and sea.
