Arrived with our 2 children to stay in large family room with kitchenette. Introduced to dingy room with insufficient space for extra beds. Grim dark brown 70's style kitchen. Bathroom old and moulding - very good location but find somewhere else to stay. Would not recommend to anyone - we found other lovely place to stay for same price.

Swallowsnest is included in the Portfolio Brochure issued by the South African Authorities and requiring regular inspection by qualified officials.
My wife and I have stayed at Swallowsnest the last four years and have been delighted with our reception and subsequent treatment.
The owners, Gerry and Terite Bleeker are assiduous in the care offered to their guests, and the accomodation is of the highest order.
The staff are delightful and efficient and the salt water swimming pool is immaculately maintained.
It is always a pleasure to renew our acquaintance with our English and German friends who also spend February in Plettenberg Bay.
We are returning to Swallowsnest next year and are already looking forward to our visit.

My wife and I stayed at Swallows Nest twice, once on the way up the Garden Route, and once going down. The best accommodation of the trip by some margin.

- Spacious, spotlessly clean room, with nice
touches such as pool towels, complimentary
port, bathroom accessories, etc.
- Delicious breakfasts (best mushrooms yet!)
- Friendly hosts & staff

I make permanent use of a wheelchair, and found the layout and space of the bathroom, clothes cupboard, and room to be most welcome. I was served breakfast on a specially layed table right outside my room overlooking the pool and garden.

We stayed here in April this year. All I can say is that I would suggest staying elsewhere.

The rooms are average to poor. The bathrooms are old and dingy and the bed was pretty uncomfortable.

We booked 2 rooms. The room downstairs was large with a kitchen but the bathroom was grim, strange "worm type" things crawled out of the plug in the morning. When we complained the owners didn't offer a refund or compensation.

The B+B is in a good location but I do think that there are better places to stay in Plettenberg Bay than here.

We were very dissapointed & surprised to read this review, which was brought to our attention in May 2007, by a client making arrangements for a repeat stay.

We have no recollection of the events described & can but apologise if the stay at the Swallows Nest did not meet the travellers expectations. We strive to ensure that our guests all enjoy their stay with us & continually look to improve the quality of our offering.

60% of our business is repeat & we are accredited with the South African Tourist Board (4 star). We also advertise through the AA travel guides & The Portfolio Collection, the premier booking agencies for B & B's in South Africa. All make regular monitoring visits to ensure that high standards are maintained

Regards
Gerald
