“a wonderful stay”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

You will find Milkwood Manor on Sea direct on the sea, a charming guesthouse, we had a wonderful view over the bay, breakfast was good. Kees gave us special tips for our daily planning which were were really useful.

My wife and i were driving around and we found this place at the end of this road on the beach.
the location is great with an amazing sea view.....
Very friendly hosts and staff , the rooms are super clean and what a view ! our room didn't have Ac but we had a superb balcony
the breakfast is good but the best part is that you take it in the restaurant on the terrass on the sea, no better way to start a day
The owner, lovely man will give you all the advises and tips you need to make your trip around Plett nice.

Room Tip: try to have on of the room on the back with the best sea view

Great location, beautiful view, very friendly staff, just the access to the beach could be easier organized... Even our car was cleaned and a member of staff recommends tours and excursions... Recommendable

We spent 2 nights at the Milkwoodmanor with its special location between the lagoon and the sea, nice cosy room with a lost of air and sun light, very tidy and clean. But the best is the breakfirst on the large terrace of the enclosed Restaurant Lemongrass with the stunning view over the beach and the breaking waves of the ocean. Owner/staff were very attentive and personally looked after us to get the most out of our stay in Plettenberg and surroundings with helpful tips what to do and to see. Went both evenings for Dinner at the Lemongrass and were delighted by the quality and selection of food served.

Room Tip: If you want a room facing the sea you should book well in advance, the same is recommended for the L...

This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location - we had a room with the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other; just beautiful. The service is excellent, friendly and unobtrusive. The adjoining restaurant serves some of the best food we had in two weeks in South Africa. The rooms are comfortable, decorated in a simple but imaginative way. Kees very helpfully provided lots of information about activities in the area around.

Room Tip: Rooms 2 and 6 have the best view; rooms on the ground floor are best

We spent 6 nights at Milkwood Manor just before Christmas. Plettenberg Bay is a great location, perfect for visiting the many things to see and do along the Western Cape. Milkwood Manor was perfect for us: relaxed but with great service and in a beautiful location. Our 8 year old daughter was able to explore the beach before breakfast, and our teenage sons could relax and chill out in the sun or the shade. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. Kees is a mine of information on things to do, and very helpful in suggesting the best times to swim and kayak, depending on the tide. Kayaks were provided free, which was a wonderful bonus as we were able to explore the beach island next to the hotel with ease. This can also be reached by walking/wading at low tide.

Breakfast in the restaurant was good: at 8-9am a little early on one morning for our sons, but it encouraged us to make the most of the day! We also ate there on three evenings and one or two lunches. The menu is excellent and the staff were great - in particular Roderick who looked after us superbly.

There is no air conditioning, but fans are provided and we found that this was fine, even in hot weather. It is so quiet that we could leave the windows open at night and go to sleep to the sound of the sea. If you love peace and quiet but a location close to many popular sights, then Milkwood Manor is definitely the place to go. We will definitely be back!
