“Pleasantly spectacular and spectacularly pleasant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

A few weeks ago, my wife and I stayed overnight at the Bosavern Guest House in Plettenberg Bay. Not our first trip to Plett as we had honeymooned at the Beacon Isle some 25 years earlier with a few visits between then and now. Bosavern is a lovely private guest house and was clean, attractive, and restful. The hosts, Viv and Gerald, greeted us at the door and were gracious and available during the stay. The guest house has a small patio and pool with an unobstructed breathtaking view Plettenberg Bay. The room was perfect: attractive, modern, spotlessly clean with a large modern bathroom and shower. Wireless Internet was complimentary. Security is excellent. The included breakfast was very adequate with nice hot and cold offerings and great coffee. Highly recommended and we would stay at Bosavern again without hesitation.

My wife and I spent two nights at Bosavern at the end of March and can say without hesitation, that this was the best of the seven places we stayed in on our Garden Route trip.

The guest house was clean and modern with a crisp feel about it. Our bed was enormous! As noted by others the views are splendid, as was the hospitality of the owners. Ever helpful with tips on where to go & eat. We could easily have stayed longer if time had permitted.

It is worth noting that in our opinion most of the attractions serving Knysna, are actually closer to Plettenberg Bay.

So, for any visitor thinking of a stay in Plettenberg Bay, don't think twice about booking a room at Bosavern.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the 'brilliant Bosavern', starting with a wonderful welcome from Viv and Gerald (the owners) who continued their warm hospitality throughout our visit to their wonderful Guest House. The view is really spectacular across Plettenberg Bay and there is no better way to have breakfast with stunning views to go with it. Whilst we were there my partner celebrated a 'milestone' birthday and Gerald took pictures of us in our birthday tshirts, which we wore that day on a boat trip. The staff also gave him a birthday card and Viv & Gerald invited us to pre-dinner drinks with them before we went out to dinner, which we really enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped us with days out, booking restaurants and making us tea at the end of a long day out. We were sad to leave and Viv even packed us some snacks and drinks to take with us to our next destination, which was very much needed on our long drive. This really is the only place to stay whilst in Plettenberg and we can't wait to go back! David & Freda

Having breakfast facing the spectacular view was the highlight for us at Bosavern. Our hosts were friendly, warm and professional. This guesthouse is a must when you stay in the Garden Route. It is situated in a peacefull and quiet part of the town (Plettenberg Bay). Lots of little added touches which made our experience that much better.

The house was very clean, everything is white -- floors, walls, ceilings and wood work with very little on the walls. For us, it was a little too sterile. However, the breakfast was great and I would definitely recommend this guest house. We just like a warmer atmosphere.

Gerald and his staff were comsumate hosts with a wonderful warm welcome to a property which we found to be outstanding. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional and the terrace with wonderful views was breathtaking. Gerald could not have been more helpful during out stay and he would go out of his way to offer advice and tips during out stay. Congratuations to you both in exceeding all our expectations. Thank you and continued success.

This was a last minute booking, on our way from CT to PE, so we took what we could get. Its a stylish (in a modern way), with lots of light colours and the room being all white. I like a big bed, good a/c and a powerful shower and we got all 3 here. We arrived in time to have a relax on the terrace, but beware the water in the small pool is chilly to say the least (at least in late Feb anyway). Being offered tea on the terrace is slightly old fashioned, but a nice touch after a long drive. Its no more than maybe 10mins max to walk back into town and downhill the whole way and get a taxi back!!

I am sure there are cheaper places to stay in town, but it is nice here, for one night anyway.
