Hidden away, Tucked under a Massive Tree, Surrounded by beauty and good Food, Situated in one of the First Buildings of Plettenberg Bay. It started off as a House, then Dr's Surgery (Dr. Peter Berning and partners) Now a shoppers Paradise and the Cherry on the Cake is the Coffee Shop. If you need to get away from it all this is the place to be.

Lovely little coffee shop situated in an old house garden. The food and coffee is good. Shop around while your order is being prepared...

“Classic Character under the Oaks at the Bay”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

Plettenberg Bay has a special vibe all of its own: it is at once a quaint village and a sophisticated retreat, ideal for savvy rustication. Today, the character of the old Main Street has been somewhat overshadowed by ugly, new-age developments standing incongruously alongside the pretty buildings of yesteryear; so it has been with real pleasure that we have discovered 'The Old House'. Tucked away, one block from the high street, this corrugated-iron roofed, elderly lady has been lovingly restored by Susie Ovenstone to house her superb boutique collections. Tucked away in a back corner, with its own separate entrance (although there is access from the main shop) is a real find: The Oak Tree Coffee Shop. Well-known to the ladies who lunch and the Plett cognoscenti – the artistically pruned shrubs, white cane chairs, crisp white table cloths and old bricks underfoot, offer an ideal hide-a-away for a light meal.
A few menu favourites include: Eggs Benedict, Grilled Haloumi Wrap, Cajun Chicken Wrap, Roasted Vegetable Salad and freshly baked scones, muffins and cakes. Expect high class patrons around you, skim through the pages of the daily papers and glossy magazines while you wait, and enjoy browsing around the wonderful ranges of goodies in the delightfully restored old house. Decorated in mauve and chalk white - this is a treasure of a find,
