I fell in love with the sea food. The skewers were excellent, prices were good and the portion was also quite large. Sitting by the beachside, enjoying the breeze with beer and sea food. What a wonderful time we had. I keep thinking of going back.

We ate at Moby Dick's on the 30th of December. It was pumping and we had an average table. Our waiter was very eccentric and provided excellent service and a few laughs. We had oysters for starters, a small yellowtail for second, and a crayfish each for main course. We washed it down with a bottle of Chardonnay and all of this was not even R800! It's rustic, and the decor is from the 70s of 80s, but we had a ball!

We went for a spontaneous light evening meal by the beach after a walk along the water. We were barefoot and ate good food. Couldn't ask for anything different and the caesar salad was filling.

on a recent weekend trip to Plett with my partner and her family, we headed to Moby's as they had visited it in 2005 and the food was apparently to die for.

On entering, I was a little concerned with the décor (anything that looked sea orientated literally 6 inched nailed to every inch of the walls and covered in years of dirt.

Walked into the restaurant area, we was a little early guessing by the fact we were the only 1's in at the time, and a waitress and (later discovered) the manager moving tables and setting out.

After 5mins and a loud cough, the manager asked us if we wished to dine that evening and showed us to a table in a corner with credited gorgeous views of the beach and ocean. Then after another long wait (think we read the menus 3-4 times) we ordered drinks and decided food at the same time would be an idea too.
At this point other arrived and were being seated, and to our delight a musician started to setup his organ :)

7-10mins had passed and the other diners and been seated and drinks were placed in front of them, oh but where was other?? .. 3 subtle gestures to the guy that served us later, he trotted over and asked if everything was ok, and then apologise for forgetting our drinks as they got busy (yeah must to rushed of your feet with 3 tables turning up)

food finally arrived after 20mins, will admit my steak was lovely, but the rest (7 meals all together) was poor to unedible, and when we politely asked if there was anything else recommended as a replacement for the meals that just couldn't be eaten (and we all tried them .. horrid) .. "I'll just check for you" was the reply. on returning he told us there no way they could be replaced .. even though we all agreed they wasn't edible ... as the chef told the manager he can't see what we were complaining about as he personally believed the food was great and there was nothing wrong with it! (his words not mine) bearing in mind the food was never taken from the table through out the process.

Then joy!!! the musician started his festive noise ... imagine german folk crossed with elevator music played out on a casio keyboard, and you're halfway there.

basically service was appalling
Food hit and very miss
entertainment .. leave to your own judgement
views .. stunning

Very easy going and down to earth, but man, their seafood dishes are to die for....like 30 medium prawns for R85 !!! If you like your meal while looking out over the beach, this is the one for you!
