Description: Nguni Restaurant Nostalgic with an African flair, Nguni is located in one of Plett's oldest buildings - an original dairy dating back over a hundred years. Nguni's African menu is a reflection of traditional selections like Bobotie, game, biltong, springbok, Karoo lamb, ostrich and other local favourites. With its beautiful sunny veranda or eclectic African interior with its original wood-burning stove, the Nguni Girls provide customers with a unique setting and superb menu. A true taste of the Cape!

“Local food great ambience”

On a side street off Main Street Nguni could easily be missed but this great little restaurant really punches above it's weight in terms of food and service. We sat next to the log burning cooking range and enjoyed a bush metze shared as a starter and then game steak (springbok aged) and beef steak both absolutely delicious. Cheese followed. A Cabernet Merlot accompanied and coffee followed. All served by helpful waiting staff (thank you Robert). Don't miss if you are staying in Plett.

“Great little place for good foo”

Went here with friends who went especially for the Oxtail and we were not disappointed. For starts we had the spring rolls which I can recommend. The restaurant is in an old building and has an "old South African " decor and atmosphere. Highly recommended

“Delicious South African meal”

lovely food, excellent service, and great to try some typical south African food. The biltong salad and the springbok steak were delicious. This was one of the best meals of our trip.

“Quiet but excellent food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

Quiet when we visited but still a relaxed atmosphere, interesting decor (with a wood burning stove) and excellent steak. Comparatively expensive compared to other restaurants we visited in South Africa but still cheap for the British traveler.

“Top quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

Just returned from Nguni and had a lovely meal hear, the best in plettenburg bay by far. The waiter was in the ball and recommended the spring book fillet and it was delicious! He filled or glasses every time they went down and the setting was also very nice, the place didn't look open when we went there but we were so glad it was and the food value service and setting were second to none.
Would def go back. Many thanks
