“We found the best place to stay in Plettenberg Bay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2011

We visited Plettenberg Bay at the beginning of June 2011 and stayed at Aberni on Sea for 4 days. The accommodation and service offered even more than we expected!

We were heartily welcomed by the hosts, Bernard and Anita. A full English breakfast (with choices and extras) was promptly served every morning, with personal attention by our hosts. Our suite was spacious, sunny and contained everything necessary for a few days away from home. The king size bed and luxurious linen made for a very good night's sleep, and the en suite bathroom was spotless.

Aberni on Sea is exactly what the name implies - the pristine white beach and turquoise sea is basically on the doorstep; just across the street and down a few stairs. Bernard and Anita pointed out a few of the most beautiful and interesting places to visit in the area and assisted us in visiting some of them. We could see that they are very passionate about their town and hospitality.

We loved spending the few days at Aberni and our only regret is that it could not have been longer, but we will definitely be back in future!

I spent four days at Aberni on Sea. The welcome was cordial. Enjoyed the professional and caring services of Bernard and Anita. Bernard recommened sight - seeing attractions,
restaurants and provided transport to and from bus stop which was situated on the national highway. His personal phone was available for me to make national calls.
The accomodation was comfortable and luxurious. The kitchen was well equipped.
Breakfast was delicious and prepared tiniously.
The beach was fantastic and only 100m walk from the accomodation.

We were welcomed with smiles from Bernard and Angelina into a contemporary modern reception and shown the two spacious rooms with Tea, TV and Towels - my favourite 3 Ts. This included Beach Towels in a basket. A lovely touch.

The rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and a pleasure to use. Every detail had been thought through. I loved the beach shells in the bathroom mug and soap dish.

We love beaching and Bernard gave a foldup beach umbrella to take to the long sandy beach that was a short walk across the road.
Plett, as the locals say is a great central place to stay, as it is a short drive to the amazing natural parks and lagoons at Storm River and Knysna.

If we could have stayed longer we would have stayed at Aberni.
Breakfast - fresh and delicious. Well cooked Angelina thankyou.

It was easy to give them a gratuity, it is such a lovely place. THANK YOU

Aberni On Sea is a super place to stay in Plettenberg Bay. The facilities are impeccable. My wife and I stayed in the one bedroom self-catering which was clean, quiet, and totally together. The owner/managers live on the premises and were very helpful with what to do and see around Plett. It's also nice that it right across the street, with easy access to a safe 'blue flag' beach. This is a great small place for a kick-back extended stay in a really nice, and safe, area.

Spent a weekend at Aberni just to spend time with my partner for a change. The location is ideal with enough privacy and attention to detail to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Close enough to town and yet peaceful enough to only hear the sounds of the sea. Long walks on the beach that is only 100 meters away, awesome breakfast and a friendly welcome were just some of the things I can comment on about the weekend.

Will be back
