A great place for a good value meal. The restaurant offers unpretentious food, great spicy chicken with peri peri sauce and fries. The house wine is excellent and our waitress was charming.

A nice place for a relaxed family get together with a friendly atmosphere.

Our friendly waiter tried to tell the 6 of us the story of the stone soup a couple of times and I can now understand the synergy between that rather soggy-ended tale and the realisation that the food was pretty much on par with it - great initial impression, very poor ending.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food, when eventually served, was not consistent and for three of the diners about as appetising as the thought of licking the stone in aforesaid story...

I had the portuguese steak and fried egg which was good. My brother, who had ordered the same dish, unfortunately received a nice thick piece of inedible stuff probably supplied by the Goodyear Corporation which had to be returned in exchange for the real thing. Two of the diners enjoyed the prawns on their shared seafood platter which they may have finished, had the other pieces on the tray been edible. Hubby had the chicken which he said was ok but not enough to write home about so I won't. Our niece whose craving for authentic portuguese style prawns led us there reported that they were delicious except for the rice.

Without fail, every one of the five diners who were unfortunate enough to be served the dishwater-soaked stuff that masqueraded for rice had the same comment - inedible! which leads me to wonder when last any of the cooks - cannot possibly have a chef in the kitchen - have tasted what it is that they send out?

No finger bowls were supplied and we had to wave grubby fingers in the air for a while in an endeavour to get our hysterical waiter to realise that we werent trying out a new Eurocentric dance, we merely needed to wash our hands....

As an overall dining experience, it is poor. Good company and, I admit it - a laughing waiter - made the evening bearable, even pleasant. The bill was absolutely enormous (we each only had 2 drinks) and therefore I have to say not value for money.

The service was great, with a smile, and the food was fantastic! Very reasonable. Very central in Plett and nice shops around the area.

Used to be one of our favourites in Plett but were disappointed this time around. Half empty despite it being peak season, staff were ill informed and poorly trained, and management generally inattentive. A far cry from the enthusiasm and energy about the place when they opened a few years back. I ordered line fish- 2 small pieces of overcooked yellowtail, served with overcooked rice and soggy chips out of a packet. My wife ordered a sole, that was charged per 100 g and came in at a whopping 300g. It was ok at best but they should have advised of the size of the fish first which she would not have ordered at that size - to their credit they did deduct a token amount after we complained. Worth noting that LM is more expensive than The Fatfish down the road and they are not on the same planet as far as food, presentation, quality and service is concerned. We won't be returning and if they want to survive in the notoriously difficult Plett market, they need to check out the competition and jack themselves up!

We visited Plett last week which we do every year at this time and made a point of revisting this restaurant. We were not disappointed and in fact went again to days later. The food is authentic Mozambique type food and if you enjoy your food hot and spicy, you wont be disappointed. The helpings are impressive and the service helpful and informative. We shall be back next year!
