“So close to the animals on a horse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

It was my first time to go game-viewing by a horse. It turned out to be so good. You can get very close to the animals on a horse as they might thought you are just "a horse". The only thing people may don't like about it is that you will not be allowed to see the lion if you ride a horse. But we did get very close to many white rhinos, together with many other animals. It's not to say very very good but it's good enough and worth your money.

“Up close to Africa's animals”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

This is the second time we've been on a two hour trip at this reserve. Although the experience was enjoyable, it wasn't as good as our first trip. We didn't get to see all the animals we really wanted to as the guide tended to stop in places too long instead of getting around the reserve. However, if you want to see lions, hippos, rhino's, girraffe's and much more, then this is a great place to come.

“Wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

We stayed at the Baroness Lodge, Plettenburg Game Reserve, Garden Route SA in January this year. It was without doubt the best experience: the accommodation, food, service, ambience, safari were absolutely first class. The staff were so helpful and the lodge itself will stay in our memories forever. The 'pool' is non-existent though - but we didn't mind this as everything else was great. We can't wait to return!

“Lovely experience if you're new to safari experiences”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2012 via mobile

We were staying at the Baroness Lodge and were fortunate enough to have a game drive included in our package. Be sure to book the game drive in advance as these seem to fill up quite quickly! We did not get to see all of the animals that we hoped to see, but still managed to get some beautiful, close-up pictures of some wildlife.

Our ranger seemed slightly disinterested, but maybe it was still a bit early!

I strongly recommend first time "safari go-ers" to visit the game farm as it is quite likely that you will experienece 4/5 of the Big 5 within 2 hours. Also try and stay at the Baroness Lodge, we had some lovely rhinos in view from our breakfast table on our last day:-)
