This peninsular is superb but beware- the walk starts out easily enough but when you get to the truly stunning sand dunes and view beyond, the return trip is hazardous. The previous boardwalks are gone and you clamber over rocks and at one point are on a sheer rock face with a concrete ledge and nothign to hold on to! It was worth every second though for the experience of this day. Take a picnic and have it on the island bit at the end of the peninsular - it will not disappoint

“Deserves the nr 1 spot in Plettenberg!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

A beautiful place to visit in Plettenberg Bay. Parts of the walk was a bit tougher than we anticipated referring to uphill walking, and we had to cut through the middle section because of our own time limitations. I would suggest to allow for at least 5-6 hours in the reserve to take in all the scenery and to allow for whale and dolphin watching. Definitely worth the walk though!

a tricky area with wet, slippery rocks. Took some scrambling. Good whale viewing. Go to the little island!!

“One of the highlights of our trip”

Stunning walk with views of a whale offshore. Can get a bit hairy in places so not for the faint hearted/those not too steady on their feet, but really beautiful.

Most spectacular views with lots of walkways to get lost on and enjoy. Make sure you have proper footwear as flip flops were a problem!
