“Amazing guest house, wonderful view, great hosts”
Reviewed November 23, 2010

Aquavit is a truly spectacular guest house in every way. From the house design itself to the finishing details and furnishings - everything has been done with amazing attention to detail.
Linda and Ole, the hosts, and their staff are extremely helpful and served a fantastic breakfast on the terrace with a breathtaking view over the lagoon, bay with the surf and mountains.
A lovely infinity pool rounds it all off perfectly.
Highly recommended.

...plus the nicest hosts you could imagine! Linda and Ole are super hosts, gave us useful tips for restaurants in the area and cooked us a great breakfast which is served on the terrace overlooking Plettenberg Bay and the Tsitsikama mountains. We really enjoyed our stay there and definitely want to go back. I hope everything stays as it is, as there is nothing that needs to be improved!

Unfortunately I messed up the itinerary and we only had one night to spare in Plettenberg Bay. When I discovered the website for the Aquavit Guest House I did suspect I had made a big mistake. Unfortunately I was right !
Aquavit is in a residential area a short distance from town and with a beautiful open view to the ocean from all rooms. It is a dream house and obviously a work of love, the attention to detail amazing. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable, luxurious and the hosts Linda and Ole are friendly and welcoming. This is a six-star property in a beautiful part of the Garden Route. Please stay longer than we did, it really would be worth it.

We had high expectations of Aquavit, based on the excellent reviews and gorgeous web site, but we were not prepared for it to exceed our expectations -- which it did! Linda and Ole's home is nothing short of spectacular. Beautifully designed and tastefully appointed, it is a pleasure to look at as well as to stay in. The style is clean and sleek, but it still feels warm and comfortable. We were just thrilled with our accommodations.

Ole and Linda were perfect hosts, making us feel very much at home and brimming with great suggestions to make our stay at Plett more pleasant. Breakfasts are unbelievable -- delicious food served on the deck with fantastic ocean views. Be sure to bring your binoculars for a view of the whales cavorting off the beach (or grab a pair that Linda and Ole keep nearby).

Aquavit has it all -- luxurious accommodations in a lovely home with a great location. It's one of the best places we've ever stayed in -- anywhere.

We stayed for three nights in late September. Everything about our stay was excellent. The Guest House is relatively new and all the rooms are of the highest quality. Linda and Ole are .extremely friendly and helpful hosts and recommeded great restaurants.
Breakfast is a real treat enhanced by the magnificent view over Plettenberg Bay. Even enjoyed the entertainment on arrival as the local firemen attempted to free a pigeon from the chimney and fireplace!

The stay at Aquavit could not have been nicer. The place is amazing, the views outstanding over the bay and very romantic. Linda and Ole were lovely and hospitable and directed us to some nice places in the area including an unknown (to the guide books we were using) restaurant that turned out to be much better than the one we had been planning to visit. Despite our short stay we would highly recommend this place ot anyone hoping ot stay in the area. A & E.

This is an absolutely stunning place to stay. Linda and Ole are great hosts and help you out with everything. The room we stayed in was amazing and it is a shame you can only give the sleep quality 5 out of 5....we had hours of fun setting to the comfort level we wanted. The view whilst you eat breakfast will live with us for a long time......we will definately be recomending this to friends....
