“The Best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

We absolutely loved staying here at the end of August 2012.Linda and Ole are the perfect hosts and we were made to feel 100% welcome. The location is stunning - breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Bay is like being on a film set! We had two guest rooms for three of us and the beds were super comfortable; the bathrooms had under floor heating; the lighting was subtle and plentiful; and the whole decor was so aesthetically pleasing. Everywhere I looked was flawlessly gorgeous - tasteful and interesting. It was too cold to use the swimming pool, but I did sit outside by the pool one afternoon and alreayd the towel was there for my use if needed. Ole and Linda suggested dinner locations and made reservations and we were made to feel that their home was ours for those few days. If you only stay in one luxury place, make it this one!!

We arrived in the rain, but were certainly far removed from the storm outside when we entered aquavit. Linda and ole are incredible welcoming and the house Is so warm and comforting, instantly giving you the feeling of home away from home. My room, downstairs on the left was stunning, big comfy bed and underfloor heating in bathroom! Getting out the shower in winter was a treat. After a great nights sleep, I can't say enough about the breakfast. I myself am a gourmet chef and I was blown away. Homemade breads, pastries and muffins. The cooked breakfast was better then any hotel I have been to and I am well travelled. Even the small details like the assortment of seeds and nuts for your yoghurt and the freshly individually brewed coffees served in individual cafe tieres did not go unnoticed. I have to add that when we all got to the breakfast table at the same time, we all went, 'did you try the coffee in the room?'
Linda and ole are friendly, wonderful to be around and you can tell they have worked in hospitality, no detail is left out. The. House is so beautifully furnished my mother had out interior designer come in and have a look as we were visiting whilst our house was being built!!
Overall, it's obvious our family were blown away with this magical little treasure that we discovered on the Internet, lucky for us and we will definitely be back. :)

Truly loved our stay here. Hosts make you feel at home. Great to have room with walk out to pool area. Bathroom was large and modern. Great location. Linda and Ole helped us out greatly with reservations for dinner. Highly recommend.

We stayed here in July and experienced the best nights stay, breakfast and service of our whole 2 weeks in South Africa. To put this in perspective we stayed at 10 different places accross the garden route.

The breakfast was excellent and the fruit, nut and yogurt cup made by Ole was the best thing I think I have ever had for breakfast!

The room was an excellent size, we stayed in room "one", and was worth every penny. The bathroom is delightful with a large walk in shower and bath. Large clossets and safe when you walk into the room and then you see the great four poster bed, with free whisky taster (if thats your thing). Also the guesthouse has its own wine cellar for those wine connoisseurs out there.

We got an excellent nights sleep and everything was perfectly clean.

The pool is lovely in a well kept garden and we were provided with beach towels when we were found sitting out enjoying some winter sun.

We will be back no question, Plettenberg Bay must be the most under-rated place on the garden route and is easy to access plenty of attractions if you have a rental car and do what we wish we did and stayed more than one night.

Thank you so much Ole and Linda!

Room Tip: Room "one" is worth every penny!

We recently stayed at the Aquavit Guest House and were exceptionally impressed with everything about this bed & breakfast. Linda and Ole were charming hosts that welcomed us with a glass of wine upon our arrival. The house itself was both beautiful and immaculate, and could easily be featured in one of the many home magazines that highlight unique modern living. The home offers absolutely incredible views of Plettenberg Bay, particularly at sunrise. The location was very convenient and provided easy access to everything we wanted to see or do in the area. The breakfast at Aquavit was superb and their overall hospitality was extroadinary. They also referred us to a very charming, unique restaurant nearby that offered great food for dinner. Our bedroom was very clean, tastefully decorated and very modern in both comfort and use. We loved staying there so much we almost changed our plans just to stay another night. We have stayed in many bed & breakfast establishments over the years, and Aquavit is without doubt one of the very best. We can easily understand their consistent high ratings and hope we will have another opportunity to stay there in the future.

We've just returned from an incredible stay at Aquavit. From our arrival through to our departure, our hosts Linda and Ole, along with Connie and Innocence made us feel right at home. Their home is something out of Architectual Digest, warm and inviting with breathtaking views of Plettenburg Bay.
Our day started with a great breakfast and our hosts were only too pleased to direct us to attractions in the area followed up by recommendations at great restaurants for dinnner.
If you're planning a trip along the Garden Route with a stop in Plett, this guest house is not to be missed. First class all the way!!

We stayed at Aquavit in mid-May and felt incredibly welcome and at home. The whole experience was just fantastic. It is really a beautiful guest house, with amazing architectural flourish, sweeping views over Plet bay and a cosy feel. The rooms are spacious, spotless and fresh - something out of a Ralph Lauren advert! We had our four month old son with us, who was made to feel like a king. The breakfast is a golden experience on the terrace overlooking the bay, with delicious and copious fresh fruit, muffins, pastries etc as well as Aquavit signature dishes. Everything is done with such style as well as love. Most of all, Linda and Ole who own the guest house are wonderful people, and helpful beyond belief (they offered to babysit our four month old while we went out for a meal). They gave us fantastic recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. We just couldn't believe our luck to have found such a treasure of a place to stay. Worth every penny and more......
