My husband and I ate at Emily's last night (July 2013) as part of our trip down the Garden Route and loved it! While it was cold enough that they had to put down the window covers (hence, missing the famous sunset views), the vibe was still super cozy and a perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner. Our waitress was lovely, recommending her favorite dishes and wines, most of which we heeded. We snacked on the chicken spring rolls as a starter, along with their warm, homemade bread - yum! I had the Peri Peri Chicken per her suggestion, and the meat was falling off the bone. My husband had the mussel, prawn and pasta dish, which was tasty as well. The chocolate fondant was to die for, hot and melty, and went perfectly with our cab. We took coffee by the fireside, a perfect cap to a great evening. Highly recommend if you're in the area, definitely worth the drive if you're not staying at the lodge.

We had reserved a table a week in advance of which they had no record. Notwithstanding the manager, Werner's assurance that the remainder of our experience would be characterised by "competence", we only encountered the contrary. What a rich, exciting venue and what POOR service (90 minute delay between courses) and average food together with a limited wine list... On the whole, very disappointing!

A good friend recommended this lovely restaurant, which seats approx 50 guests inside and a couple more on the outside deck. The restaurant has a lovely fireplace and lounge area, is decorated with African and eclectic pieces from which looks like, travels abroad and more so, in Africa. Decor inside and outside is what one would call African chic.
Thank you to the chef for good food and great presentation.
.Menu has limited offering, but really good variety.
Service not fantastic, but acceptable, ok.
Got the idea that waiters had to assist all over except on the floor attending to their guests.
If you don't mind to get up and ask for the bill, and do the same to pay, this is a lovely, highly recommended restaurant.
The view from the restaurant as well as the outside deck is really amazing and reminds of somewhere deep in Africa.
This could be a fantastic weekend hide away, with african sunset/sunrise from your room or restaurant.
Loved it

It was just magic to be here. The scenery is unbelievable. A really unique experience unmissable for those who are visiting the Garden Route but also for people already used to the South African landascape. Although the bay was a beautiful sight, Plettenberg itself looks fake and slightly annoying. Therefore we quickly left and headed towards this place, which was suggested to us by a friend. The idea was to stop for a quick coffee, but we ended up having a lovely light lunch and nice wine on the terrace. Lovely people and a really special place to be. Loved it!

I have eaten several times here and always had a good meal, it is in a very beautiful spot but remote, if you want to have a couple of glasses of wine go with a non drinking friend to drive back. It is special and has lovely atmosphere but expensive. Go for a romantic or special dinner but not somewhere I would go with a group of friends.
