“Romantic gem”

Lovely view over a river and grassland. Eclectic decor and a lovely romantic atmosphere make this restaurant a must do when in Plett. Very good service as well. My favorite sundowner venue.

“Stunning setting, average food, poor service.”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

Having phoned and booked a table for 8:00 pm. We were left outside to wait for 45 mins. Some foreigners were given preference over us as I quote from the manager " he doesn't want to get any hate mail." We were then seated at 9:00 pm- and had an average meal. The runner Lesley was fantastic, the waiter was scarce and the manager was arrogant and not once did he try to rectify the situation. I understand it is season time, but one would think your locals would come first as they are the ones who keep a restaurant going through winter!

A great setting, good service and good food. We went with friends and had a very relaxing lunch. The atmosphere is peaceful and the scenery lovely and African.

“Beside a meandering river valley”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Get there early to appreciate the fading light on the Bitou valley Have a drink overlooking the valley and the mountains beyond In Autumn beside the roaring outdoor fire Food is first rate though the menu is "compact" Wines are a tad overly marked up. for South Africa Tkae your own "special"bottle and pay the corkage If you want sushi - then sit up at Kate's bar and then have a pudding and coffee to finish Always a pleasure to go to Emily Moon

“Exotic setting with equally superb food!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Off the beaten track, and tucked away overlooking a vlei, this restaurant is an absolute must on anyone visiting this area. Entering the restaurant is like being transported to another place - as though you are on some exotic holiday! Arriving early, about 6p.m. will enable one to take in the beautiful surroundings the sun sets. And as the night creeps in, Emily Moon takes on a magical charm. The candles and clever lighting continue to add to the beautiful ambience. But one is there to eat! Excellent food always seems to taste that much better when the whole setting is perfect. You will not be disappointed.
