“The best stop in the garden route”
Reviewed August 22, 2011

We arrived there by accident, and ended up staying for a week. Plett is such a beautiful place and Albergo makes it worth while to stay. The place is beautifully
decorated, very very clean and relaxing. But most of all- the crew is amazing. They will help you with anything you need with a big smile on their faces, and the owners are the nicest people, they helped us
with so many things and took care of us.
Super market and a genius pie shop within two steps away, and
restaurants and the town center are just down the road.
Great place, very recommended.

This was my very first backpack hostel and trust me I will do it again! I've only stayed in hotels or B&B's therefore was very nervous about staying in a backpackers lodge but Albergo made it a unique style bed without the breakfast. The dorms were clean, the bathroom was maintained the general lounge area clean and inviting. Marijam taught this city girl how to put the logs in the fireplace to keep the fire going.. Have I mentioned how warm and friendly the staff was? Extremely helpful. They helped me re-arrange bus tickets find the local taxi buses to get around. They arranged for Wonderful Cameron to drop me at the interline bus terminal when it was time to go. They were awesome. I was a single female traveling alone yet the atmosphere at Albergo is so warm that you just blend right in. Should I ever stay at another hostel again, they definitely have big shoes to fill. Way to go Albergo.

The hostel is located in a large villa in a side street in Plettenberg Bay close to a lot of cafes, restaurants, internet centers and laundromat services. Its a great social hub in Plett with a garden and camp fire for the guests. All activities in the Garden Route including bungee, whale watching etc can be arranged from the hostel reception itself. The hostel provides free pick up and drop to the bus station. All in all, a very comfortable and relaxed stay.

The Albergo for Backpackers is a nice hostel. Everything was clean and the staff was very nice. They have a kitchen, incase you want to prepare your own meal and have amenities such as hammock, pool table, tv room plus they light a bonfire every night.
Can only recommend Albergo as it has a good vibe to it!

Stayed here for a few nights in a double ensuite room. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were great at recommending local attractions and booking them. There's also a fab bonfire in the evening where it's possible to meet other travellers. The main street of Plettenberg Bay is probably a 1 min walk away (if that!).

It's a nice place to stay. comfortable & clean double rooms, very friendly service.
In the evening they made a fire in the garden to sit there, make your own BBQ and have a beer.
We liked our stay, got a lot of extra information what to do and where to go. We recommend it for a stay on the GardenRoute. Try the Knysna Elephant Park and the World Highest Bungee Jumping whats close by - it's amazing.
