Come on a voyage of discovery as you search for Plettenberg Bays majestic creatures of the deep. What will I see? Our climate is changing and these changes seem to be affecting our marine life, in particular the Southern Rights. Over the past two years, sightings of Southern Right whales have dropped, but we see more Brydes and Humpbacks than before. Our dolphin sightings are awesome and include the playful Bottlenose, energetic Commons and the highly endangered Humpbacked dolphins. A variety of sea birds are sighted as well as the ever growing Cape Fur seal population. We see many different animals that come into our bay to say hello. Particular species cannot be guaranteed as these animals are being viewed in their natural environment but times of year can depict their occurrence. This is a true “seafari” and every one is different, you never know what you will find …. How will I know what to look for? Highly qualified and experienced marine guides aboard will guide you through the different species you are likely to encounter, showing you how to identify them and where to look. They will be on hand to answer any questions you might have, talk about the history, geology and wildlife during your adventure! What about the boats? Tss our first tim on an Ocean Safari, it was well worth it. The guide did his job very well and he could answer all questions. We saw dolphins and Seals by the Robberg Nature reserve.

Just last week chose Ocean Safaris in Plettenberg Bay for a Whale Watching experience for my family. What an experience! The briefing was professional, the launch into the sea with a truck, very exciting and the viewing of marine life, just spectacular. We followed a pod of Bottle nosed Dolphins for a while, leaping out of the water, then moved over to the Western side of the bay where we spent some time viewing a Hump Backed whale, which was magnificent, she showed us her tail, really great! Then we visited the Seal Colony and as added value got to see a plethora of Hammer Head Sharks! This trip was really great value, the guides were knowledgeable and told you all abut the animals you were looking at. We felt totally safe the entire time, and they even turned around to fish my husband's cap out of the Water, how amazing is that!?

The ride up the Beach was also great fun. Ocean Safaris are highly recommended from an experience and safety point of view!

Great experience with Ashwin guiding us and Marlin our skipper safely navigating us around the bay. We had three families and had an absolutely stunning time. Very safety conscious at all times and excellant communication by Ashwin had all of us feeling very safe.

Our young children had an exciting time and we had a rare sighting of a Brdye's Whale which are normally very shy. Marlin expertly guided the boat around so that while we were always a safe distance from the whale so as not to disturb it, we were able to take some great photographs.

I'd highly recommend Ocean Safari's for your whale watching trip in this beautiful bay.

we really enjoyed the entry into the ocean where the boat was pushed by a tractor! And the return to shore where we basically went as fast as we can and hit the sand! we went twice cos first time we didnt see whales but second time we did, but had to go 17km offshore to see them. A decent trip, the seals were a nice supprise and we saw an elephant seal in the water which was cool.
