I am very overdue in writing this review after my 2nd trip to Kichaka in Sept 2010. From the stunning rooms to the comfy & eventful game drives, the superb food and wonderful service, Kichaka stands head and shoulders above other game lodges I've visited - and I've been to a few! If you love peace and quiet, the bushveld, our wonderful wildlife, and above all, absolute luxury, Kichaka is the place for you!

This place is the stuff of dreams! From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated so warmly by every member of staff. The lodge is absolutely outstanding. The food was fantastic, the wine excellent, the rooms unbelievably luxurious with a lovely plunge pool of your own in seclusion. The game drives were educational and awesome, the scenery out of this world. We saw everything and more and had the wonderful and knowledgeable Jeff and the fantastic tracker Stem, who were learnt so much from and had a good laugh with too! Thank you so much Kichaka, we will be back one day!!!

Had an amazing stay at the Kichaka Game reserve. travelled from Canada and spent one month in South Africa from Capetown to kichaka and I must say Kichaka was withou a doubt the highlight of the trip.
Immediately upon arrival the preparation made by the staff is evident as not a moment was wasted as they tended our immediate needs, taking us quickly up to the lodge deep within the reserve where staff was waiting with resfreshments on hand.
The guided drives were led by a team of incredibly friendly knowledgable and attentive guides (hennie!) who know how to make this adventure a lot of fun and informative. The drives were long and covered a huge amount of land, and the reserve at times seemed to be endless with the valleys and plains. A huge range of landscapes. The afternoon drives always overlapped the beautiful sunsets where Hennie found the most beautiful spots to watch the sun set acfoss the afircan landscape. Animals galore, we saw all but one that we were hoping to find.
Once we were back at the resort, we again greeted by staff with refreshments and another super surpise that my wife and I had not expected. It was fantastic, but I won't spoil it for those of you who might end up experiencing the thought and effort that this group of employees can put together with a timing that is right on the money. Wonderful job all of you!
The meals in the evening were better than expected and was no doubt a fine dining delight with a variety of menus each night prepared but what I must assume is an exceptional executive chef who is at the top of his game. Outstanding food that left no dis-appointment from start to finish each night.
We stayed three nights, four days at Kichaka and will most definitely go out of our way next trip south to stay here again.
Thanks everyone.

The Lodge was great. The food was not as good as I expected. For the Price we paid, I expected better. The Game Drives were excellent and our guide Jamie was amazing and really made the trip. I expected to see more game and bigger herds, but realize it is the Cape and private. Overall it was an excellent trip.

We spent 5 days / 4 nights at Kichaka with the family - incl two kids 19 and 14 years old. The service at the lodge is phantastic, the setting simply beautiful, the lodges perfect, the food limited in choice but well prepared. Even the housewines were no cheap troublemakers but came from well known vineyards throughout South Africa.
But the best part of staying at Kichaka is, of course, becoming educated in the african wildlife and being guided through the game reserve. The guide we had was precisely doing that - not quickly getting the Big five in front of the camera, but teaching us about the wildlife and showing us things about flora and fauna well beyond the normal "and here is a lion"-tour. A perfect vacation, and truly unforgettable.

Wow! What a place! From the moment you arrive you realise that you have made a great decision!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The staff are so helpful and friendly, the lodge and rooms are just incredible, great food (and tonnes of it!) and great drinks! Then of course there is the main reason you came here, the safari! The variety of wildlife is great, the rangers are brilliant and very knowledgeable. Myself and my wife had the greatest time here and are still regretting our decision to only stay 2 nights!

Believe the hype!

Our family took over the lodge for three days for our daughters wedding. Everybody had nothing but praise for this idyllic and amazing game lodge. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, but in particular Jason the lodge manager and Mandisa who organised the wedding made out stay. The wedding was truly magical and the attention to detail, including the fresh rose petals, colour coordinated menu cards and the staff singing and performing a traditional African wedding celebration just added to the perfect day. Food and wine is 5* and scrumptious. But we must not forget the game drives, the rangers and spotters were extremely knowledgeable and their friendliness added to the wonderful experience. We can not recommend Kichaka enough .
