What a shame we only stayed for 1 night! We stayed at Msenge lodge which is the bush lodge and it was amazing. The suites are super luxurious - I cant decide whether the best bit is the private deck and plunge pool with kudu, Npala and warthog just wandering around in immediate view or the outdoor shower which was totally lush at 6am? Common areas are just as lovely. We loved our drives and got amazingly close to white lions, elephants, rhino and giraffe, among others. The only area for improvement would be the food - by no means bad but could be better and certainly don't let that put you off. The reserve feels intimate and although it was fully booked it felt as if we were only one of a few couples there. I'd return in a heartbeat.

We stayed at the Water Lodge for 3 days, what can we say apart from amazing! This place surpasses all expectations, the room, the food and the safari drives, we sat this morning watching a pride of lions sleeping in the African sun after their meal. In addition 2 days ago we sat while a herd of elephants past our vehicle no more that a foot away, wow, what an experience! A special thanks to Jean our ranger for the 3 days he opened our eyes to African nature, also the rest of the team for looking after us. We cannot fault Pumba, if your looking for a safari in South Africa, give them a try, you will not be disappointed. A BIG thank you!

We stayed at the River Lodge on the three for two night honeymoon package. The three night time frame was perfect. That included 6 safaris and a completley all inclusive luxury package. Rooms were large and very well appointed, meals were gourmet and the wine was plentiful. But the highlight were the safaris lead by an knowledgable and dedicated professional, Justin. We saw three of the big five and in particular both the male and female white lions very close up. I would also recommend taking the safari hike which is a low cost extra. A spa treatment was included in the price and was well worth it. We were there during some of the worst weather the area had experienced in 60 years and the resort coped very well providing suitable weatherproof clothing.

Room Tip: If you are interested in easy access to the spa and gym book a room at the Bush Lodge.

Pumba Lodge surpassed all expectations. The room was beautiful with a huge bed, sofa, log fire, and a balcony overlooking the lake. Baths by candlelight, outdoor shower, and plunge pool also fun! Service was fantastic - hot chocolates to welcome us on arrival and after game drives, helpful and friendly staff - always on hand if needed, and the food was fabulous. The safari itself was less impressive due to the rain and cold winds. Over 6 game drives, we saw most that we had set out to see but just didn't come across the animals as often as we'd expected (having done safari before). Due to the weather the elephant herd of 14 alluded us... We did have the luck of finding a hungry white lioness and cub on the prowl. Would love to return in good weather!

The start to our 2 week holiday, and the welcoming staff helped us to relax straight away after a long trip. Our room was very comfortable and we felt totally spoilt, all our needs were catered for, even tubes of sunscreen and insect repellent. The game drives were exciting, we felt like royalty as it was early Spring and the beginning of the season so we were the only 2 in the Landrover for our first 3 drives. Noma our ranger was really knowledgable, we got close to many animals and were really fortunate to see the white lioness and subadult killing a warthog and then the lion tucking in. It was great to relax on the decking next to our room at Msengi Bush Lodge watching the wildlife visiting the waterhole, including rhinos, impala, wildebeest and warthogs. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, they met us with hot gluwein on our return from a chilly afternoon game drive. We' certainly recommend taking warm fleeces for Spring. The food and wine were excellent and this was truly all inclusive. Can't recommend highly enough!
