Parking was difficult at times (initially parked on the open road). On check-in I found that the guy in front of me was paying the last minute special rate (just over half of the corporate rate I was paying). The room was large - with a small lounge looking onto the sea. The view was awesome (made better by good autumn weather). The breakfast was very limited, but the dining area is bright and cheerful.

Not the stuff that dreams are made of, but OK.

Room Tip: Higher the better

I would definitely not stay here again! The carpets are dirty in the passage and the room. The bathroom sink drain was blocked, the bath was stained, like its never been cleaned and the towels had stains. The passage and the room smelt like smoke. All-round unpleasant experience! Yes the views where nice, but was it worth the discomfort? NO!

On the waterfront with a great view.

Probably once a great hotel but now past its prime, corridor to our room smelled of cigarette smoke even though property was non-smoking.

My back said that this was the worst matress so far.

Buffet breakfast was OK but not as good as other hotels.

Dinner at Guidos was excellent.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere if you can

This was our favourite hotel on our South African tour due to the amazing views and sounds of the sea from our room. I could sit there all day and watch the waves breaking on the rocks . Our room was great very comfortable bed good bed linen everything worked and we could even get ( paid for ) wifi in the room. Ok the tv was old fashioned but who wants to watch tv when you have the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean to watch .There was no restaurant for dinner but we ate in a great restaurant next door ( Guidos) . The breakfast was the usual buffet fare - very good.

Room Tip: I think all rooms have a sea view but just ask to make sure

Nice location on the beach but the rooms are very dated.

Old analogue TV with about 12 channels (I had to ask to get the remote) but no English news such as CNN or Skynews, shower over bath with only soap and two very small satchels of shampoo provided, minimal lighting.

Tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioner, and safe provided. 3 round pronged power points with no power adapter provided.

Steers takeaway next door, as is a good Italian restaurant. There is no dinner available in the hotel itself.

Internet costs money here – no good in this day and age!

Only one old-style lift to service the 3 floors of the hotel which is blatantly insufficient.

So I arrived after a long day on the road and made the long walk up the lift and to the end of the corridor to my room only to find the electronic key did not work. Only recourse was to make the long journey back down to reception to be told to go back upstairs and wait. The guy came and opened the door with his security key and indicated that their system was faulty (so they knew this when I first came up?). The TV did not work – no remote – called reception man came up and then went and brought back a remote. Jumped in the shower and it cycles between hot and cold every 10 seconds or so.

One night is one too many. The hall smelt of must and mold. The bed was old and lumpy. The window had someone who smudged a heart on it the outside ledge was used as an ashtray and the butts have been there for awhile...the staff are not friendly and it is work to get 2 words out of them.
