Don't expect luxury rooms here, these are very simple cabins with small bedrooms and tiny bathrooms. Not very clean, unfortunately. No wifi and not even a mobile phone connection with AT&T. Ok for a short stay (1 night) on your way to or from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. On the positive side, The restaurant is a good surprise. Very good food for a reasonable price. Same for breakfast.

We appreciate your review and apologize if your bathroom was not properly cleaned. We usually have very positive comments on cleanliness and we will bring this to the attention of our housekeeping staff. We are very glad you enjoyed the restaurant and invite you to return.

Absolutely beautiful place. I stayed at the hotel (the two-story building in the back). Clean and comfortable room, super friendly staff, impressive gift shop, gas station right next door - fuel up before you head home 'coz the next one is far away (don't remeber exactly where but think it was back at 89/64 junction).
Take time to enjoy the drive from Jacob Lake Inn to the park entrance, the view is quite different from the desert and red cliffs - refreshingly green and vast. In general I think the North Rim offers a better experience than the other side, better scenery, less visited, more intimate connection with mother nature. If you do like a hot meal and a couple drinks after a long exciting day, be advised that the grill closes at 9pm at the Jacob Lake Inn. After that all you can get is cold sandwich and bagged chips, with soda. Grab a bottle of wine from the shop and sit on your balcony, bath in the moon light pouring through pine forest, and take in as much as you can the purest air in America.

Room Tip: Second floor, away from the parking lot side, middle of the hallway - advantage point for moon-bathi...

What a great review! We are located in a gorgeous place and we agree with your assessment of the North Rim, the forest here is spectacular and it is quiet very peaceful and we are so glad you took the time to enjoy it. Hurry back!

We stopped here to buy the widely acclaimed milkshake. I got a chocolate banana malt. Order the thick version. Get a homemade cookie. There are good T-shirts and native Indian items for sale. There is also a little bar/grill to get a burger. Then go stay at the North Rim Grand Canyon Lodge. We didn't get a room at Jacob Lake and it didn't look very appealing.

How nice that you enjoyed your shake and cookies. We have been written up in several travel guides for our shakes and baked goods. It's too bad you didn't actually take a look at our rooms, which compare favorably with those at the North Rim Lodge and are more reasonably priced. We hope you will give us a chance to be your hosts in the future.

3 couples all in cabins. Old sagging beds, no hot water, tiny bathroom and still over $100 a nite. Can't shave or bathe. In 40 years of traveling this ranks as one of the most run down places we have ever stayed. Food was fine the help try's but just have nothing to work with. These cabins should not rented to anyone.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry about the problem with your hot water. In researching this matter I find that your rooms are located in one unit. Code requires that the water heaters be located outside the rooms in an enclosed shed. The weather was extremely windy the day you stayed with us, and had been for several days. We think the wind blew out the pilot light, the result being that you had, as you state, no hot water. The sad thing is that you did not make this known to us until the morning of your departure. If we had known the night before we could have come to your unit, relit the pilot light and solved the whole problem quickly. We are very sorry for this unfortunate situation and apologize for your inconvenience.

Enjoyed a nice visit in the North rim area. Great place to use as the base to visit the parks in the area. No internet or Wi-fi. Quite, peaceful place. Great food in the Dining room, good breakfast in the cafe.

Which is basically the only hotel for miles around.
We couldn't get accommodation at the North Rim and this was one of the nearest places, that said its a good hours drive.
We stayed in the newer block and the room was perfectly decent. with a nice clean feel and agood bathroom

The cabins are old. They are clean and small. The bathroom is small and the shower is smaller. But, you don't stay there to be in your cabin! The pine trees are beautiful and you are close to the North Rim. The restaurant had good food and the service was very good!
