We found the staff very helpful and genuinely concerned about our comfort. The rooms were rustic - no phone - no internet. The relaxed mood blended with the majesty of the North Rim perfectly.

Neat place. Great dinner at the lodge. Wait staff was terrific! Plumbing problems in our unit. Drains backed up and unpleasant results in our cabin. Front desk did NOT offer any compensation as a result. They need to spend money on infrastruture, i.e. plumbing, roads and etc. Would stay there again.

We stayed here on our way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The North Rim was not open yet. The people were extremely helpful w/ any questions. And most of the time it was the same questions being answered over and over again. We ate at the counter and the wait staff were still getting used being there. But they were friendly and always willing to stop and talked and interact w/ the customers they were helping.
The best part was the quiet nights. We sat on our deck and just listened to the stillness. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.
I would definitely recommend this for a stay while seeing the North Rim or just hanging out.

As the North Rim had not yet opened for the season when we were planning to visit, we decided to book at the Jacob Lake Inn, which is 42 miles from the North Rim. We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. The accomodations, in a relatively new lodge building were quite nice. (There are also cute-looking cabins, but they weren't yet open for the season.) The staff was welcoming. The dining room is decorated with a beautiful selection of Navajo rugs. Their selection and knowledge of Navajo crafts and their willingness to share that knowledge was exceptional. Their fresh-baked cookies and brownies were extraordinary! The owner shared with us information on the back roads to the North Rim, where we were able to do some hiking at Monument Point. All in all a great stay!

We booked a one night stay at this Inn because it is approximately half-way between the Grand Canyon (south rim) and Las Vegas. It is also located on the access road to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, in Kaibab National Forest. I have to say, when we arrived I was a little nervous because it is the motel, restaurant, gift shop and gas station. It is, from what I can see, one of the only places around. It was late when we arrived and ate dinner at the counter (the dining room is seasonal). The menu was pretty simple, and the food was tasty - as was breakfast the next morning, the best part being the freshly made home-made bread. We stayed in one of the motel rooms in the rear and when we entered the room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was quaint, with interesting furniture, and the bathroom was new, modern and very clean. There was also an outside balcony. They also offer spa services. I don't know what kind of activities or attractions are available in the area, but they are open year-round. What I do know is that Jacob Lake is not one of the attractions. It is privately owned and is not much of a lake any longer. It is a place I would definitely return to.
