“decent choice on route66”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

early check in at 1pm was granted after we could convince the somewhat unexperienced young lady at the check in counter. room on 2nd floor was clean with 2queens, fridge and microwave. good appearance for a road motel and defenitely much better than motel6 next door, where we stayed last year. outdoor pool was ok but very warm. views of the plains and skies remain awesome up here on navajo blvd e.g. sitting on one of those roadside benches and watch the sun go down :-) denny's restaurant right next to the hotel offer fine and reliable food. overall a good place to spend the night on route66.

If you need to stay in a great property on you way to flagstaff or all the parks around grand canyon stay at this hotel. It very good and clean with the best beds I have slept on in any hotels. It is also very quiet with a restaurant next door.

This was a very nice motel. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was good. They are pet friendly. A full breakfast was offered and we found it to be very good - eggs, sausage, etc. Much better than a continental breakfast.

Stayed here one night after visiting the amazing Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good and included eggs, toast and bacon. The best thing was about 10 minutes after checkin the young lady at the front desk called to make sure everything was ok. If we are ever back in Holbrook we will stay here.

We stayed here for one night after driving thru Painted Desert/Petrified Forest National Park. The only reason we stayed here is they are pet-friendly and we were traveling with our yorkie.

It is really not an "inn". It is a motel...the type you pull your auto up to the door at. No inside hallways(yuck). We knew it was not going to be a charmer as soon as we saw it.

We had a ground floor room so we could walk right in. 2 double beds that were so low to the ground we could only imagine how cheap and old the matresses were. Carpeting in the room was old and fairly beat up. Our yorkie kept sniffing the floor...yes, they take pets but not all pets have good owners that take them out to potty...if you know what I mean.

Baseboards were beat up and the dresser had it drawers pulled out so you could inspect(?) Like, we would ever put our belongings in it. A small refrigerator and microwave were in the room too. The bathroom was dark and had a pre-fab kind of tub/shower. Water pressure was fine. The toilet ran all night and was annoying. Soap, towels, etc. were cheap.

The pool door was locked and would not open up to a room key. Another guest called the desk and someone came out and then they just left the pool door wide open. No lifeguard. A real "good" situation. We opted to sit at a table on the other side on the sidewalk. We had to clean off the chairs and the table...they were very dirty. We brought in a pizza and we ate there. The hotel looked pretty full. No real noise problem to speak of.
The following morning they offered a free breakfast in the lobby...coffee, juice, donuts and some other stuff that did not look edible. Folks were gobbling it all up as it was there last meal.

The place is also run down because it is a one nighter with turn almost every night. A lot of people coming and going.

Regardless, we would never stay here again and we do not recommend it to anyone.

Holbrook is the essence of old Route 66, the town could have been the inspiration for Radiator Springs in the Disney movie Cars. One can imagine the Arizonian as a destination back in those days. Back to 2012. The Arizonian is a typical motel of the 70's much like I remember on family roadtrips, especially the decor. This is a clean and comfortable property with the added mod-con of free wi-fi. Try some local hospitality at one of the good ol' boy saloons within walking distance of the motel. This is a good stop-over on any Route 66 Roadtrip.

We spent six days travelling across the US - heading to LA. On the way, we stayed in Best Western hotels. They are consistently good value with free internet and bereakfast. This one in Holbrook, AZ was particularly good and well run. The room was extremely clean, neat and comfortable. Two arm chairs and a table were a very pleasant addition. Travelling for many hours means that the simple things mean a lot; a fridge, a microwave, free internet and a friendly smile of welcome. Glad we stayed in this rather out of the way spot.

Room Tip: We always ask for a room on the ground floor - most of the Best westerns in the US are two stories w...
