stayed here enroute from California to colorado. Travelling with friends and teens - other family had stayed here before. Got a rate on priceline of around $60 with taxes/fees.

Good: good location, easy access to hwy 40 to get in and out of town. Front desk staff excellent and friendly, Recommended local indian dances at town hall. Very fun, great for kids, very authentic - not your "knotts berry farm" attempt at authenticity. Darling kids plus had fresh made fry bread and navajo tacos. Indoor pool the kids liked. Clean basic room.

Bad: its a motel. Not fancy, very small town. Not a lot to see and do - a stay and drive kind of place.

dont miss: local indian dances - see above, downtown/route 66, wigwam motel - if you have small kids you MUST see - exactly like you would see in the pixar movie "Cars" including a truck like "mater" in front of one "cone". Suggest stay other place as you pay for the uniqueness.

At full price, this would be a bad choice, we used Room saver coupons, and got a few dollars off. We looked at the other motels in the area, and unfortunately, none seemed any better, and a few looked worse. The common areas in this property were a bit dingy, and could use some updating, but i suspect that all the motels in the area (except the Holiday Inn express, which was prohibitively expensive- I LAUGHED when they told me the rate!) are in about the same condition- they don't have to be THAT good, since they are the only motels for 50 miles or so. The beds are on the hard side, and the " continental" breakfast was a bit on the slim side, as well as having weak, strange tasting coffee. To be fair though, the indoor pool was nice, and jacuzzi/spa was welcome. If you choose not to blow a large bunch of money on a night's stay, you could do worse. ALSO, the housekeeping staff was not optimal..the sink in our room was not very clean, and there WAS hair left on the bathroom floor.

We were on a cross country trip. Stayed here after vising Petrified National Forest. We liked the idea of indoor pool to relax so we chose this place. We had a suite of 2 rooms with 1 king bed & 1 sofa sleeper, the bathroom is in the middle that separates the two areas and provide a good privacy for our family of 5. There's a separate sink outside with fridge, microwave and a small dining table. The indoor pool is great and my daughter had a great time in it. The rooms are not as new but clean and cozy. Breakfast consists of cereals, toast, bagel, donuts, juice and coffee. Many fastfood place around the area. Friendly staff. We could stay here again.

The rooms of this hotel are typical motel and nothing special. But they are clean and the beds are comfortable. The manager and staff are very helpful, competent and friendly. The breakfast is typical cold products but there is a good variety (cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, etc.)
The hotel offers a good value, we were able to rent two rooms to give us extra space for the same price of one room at similar properties in town.

I booked a smoking king bed for one night, coming from San Diego. After a lovely scenic drive in, Holbrook was welcome as well as the fresh, hot coffee that was waiting at check in. The property was practically empty and I was helped and on my way to the room within 3 minutes.
The room was what one should expect for a smoking room. There were no other "weird smells" other than smoke. Of course, if you're a smoker, you can not complain. The room was clean, well stocked and had a kickin' heater! The one surprise was that it was much larger than expected. There was plenty of room around the king bed, two chairs and table. It was perfect for the one night and I was able to grab some of the continental breakfast on my out.
There is an indoor pool but I didn't have the time to see/use it. There's not much around in town besides the standard fast food/diner fair and a Safeway for essentials.
If I'm ever driving I-40 again, I would stay here.

After reading reviews of this place and how clean it was, I booked a night here. Our room was to be a non-smoking king. It smelled horribly of cigarrette smoke! We went to the front desk and asked for another room explaining that my son's asthma is triggered by smoke. After a nasty look, the manager gave us a new room. The room was big, lots of space. The sink is separate from the bath/toilet. However, the sheets are as paper thin as the walls outside and above! Anyone walking, talking, tv or sinks running upstairs can be heard on the first floor! The absolute worst thing was the bath tub. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks! Just gross! I wouldn't stay here again if it was the last place available! I have stayed in other places in Arizona for the same price and less, and have had better quality than this Days Inn. Skip the meteor crater as well, it was a complete rip off.

Room was nice, better than average for the price. About 10pm just after we had fallen asleep the neighbor pounded on the wall and yelled to be quiet. As we were already alseep, we didn't know what noise he was talking about. Just as we fell back asleep about 30 minutes later the front desk called to ask us to be quiet. Again as we were sleeping we were unawar of any noise. We couldn't really get a good nights sleep after being startled twice. I feel the front desk should have at least walk down to the area of our room to see if their was actual noise before calling. The following morning we noticed a mangy looking woman 2 doors down from our room with her door open smoking inside a non-smoking room and had a small dog running around inside a pet-free room. When we mentioned this to the front desk while complaining about the late night phone call we were told that that was the person making the noise and we were given an apology. I asked for a discount and was gladly given $15 off our $68 night. I would have preferred a good nights sleep, but I have asked for refunds in the past from different hotels for worse problems and been flatly told they would take nothing off. So it was nice to be reimbursed somewhat for our troubles.
