I stayed there with two friends and we were surprised by quality of the service here! Great location; good wifi; large rooms and owners really make you feel at home. I absolutely recommend to anyone going to see the petrified forest national park

Had an excellent stay at the globetrotter. Really big and clean room. Pool area was awesome, super retro. Pool was clean and cold. Breakfast was great. The nostalgia was excellent. Love that the owners saved this place and have done such a good job renovating. Would stay at again if in holbrook.

It may not look like much from the road but this Route 66 motel is exactly what you want when driving on Route 66. The rooms are all newly painted and plans are afoot for more expansion. Peter and Mona Hoeller do their utmost to make you comfortable. A shining light in a very gloomy town.

What a super fun experience! The owners are Austrian and greeted us in the morning at breakfast. Clean an comfortable with a lot of kitschy fun SW feel such as blanket spread with a big rig, a Mexi-Cali minx with a machete looking at you dangerously! Pool is nice and most importantly the rooms are clean. There is a flat screen TV and wifi! Take a chance on this little gem and move away from the corporate feel.

I can only think that maebeth was reviewing the wrong motel? This place is not number 1 by accident. We had booked in advance and were delighted to be shown to a large, clean, beautifully decorated room (in neutral shades) with a delightful bedspread and cushions. There was an older dresser with drawers and a light wood bureau, table and chairs. At last a motel that has more than one chair in the room. Lots of space for road travellers bags and to move around in. The shower and toilet area were small but adequate and exceptionally clean and well maintained. The sink was a gorgeous blue with sunflowers and cala lilies painted onto it, I believe that they are all different, what a quaint and lovely idea. Proper mugs for the coffee maker and glasses for water or, in our case, beer. Breakfast was freshly prepared and the variety of fresh bread rolls and bagels was a welcome touch. We would only ask for better coffee but then we are European and we understand that this can be hard to come by in the USA.
We found the owner and his daughter chatty and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend a d would stay here again.
There is a dire lack of a good place to eat in Holbrook, it was good to hear the owner say that he is hoping to open a restaurant on the corner of his motel, good luck and we may see you again one day.

We stopped here late one night on our way to Vegas. Prebooked the room on the road. We would have stayed anywhere else once we saw it; but we'd already paid, the kids were tired, and it was for one night only. Room was incredibly dark and looked like a schizophrenic had decorated. Dark red walls, god awful "eclectic" furnishings. Way over priced for the tiny little room. Didn't eat breakfast. The pool was closed. Looked like half the place was closed down for repairs.

I wanted to write a much longer acceptance speech, but I do not know how long my clear mind lasts.I never know when I get my next schizophrenic episode(you certainly know how it is with people like me....).How did you see the context between my room decoration and schizophrenic?Normally just schizophrenics themselves and VERY good psychiatrists can see the connection.VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!
You gave me the Inspiration to redecorate the rooms in a kind of "psychopatic style".Please do not hesitate to tell me your ideas,I am pretty sure you have a lot to offer.
And you are right - maybe I should clean the rooms more often, not just once a month.....I will think about it.So thanks again for your constructive criticism and very funny review!

With kind regards Mona - Globetrotter Lodge

Found this place on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. It was a great treat to stay on historic Route 66. We got to the hotel around 9:00 pm. The owner was waiting on us. After a quick check-in, she escorted us to the room, opened the door, showed us where everything was and told us to let her know if we needed anything. The room was postcard perfect; warm and inviting, like visiting family. Very clean and neat. Beds were comfy and we slept great. I didn't hear a train until the next morning, after I was already awake. As far as Route 66 traffic, we didn't hear a thing. The next morning, we made our way to the lobby for breakfast. It was a nice surprise to be greeted by the owner as he showed us to OUR designated table, assigned by our room number. The breakfast was really good. Nothing prefab, except the cereal. The bagels and rolls were obviously made fresh daily (later found out, from a local bakery). A variety of preserves, juice, teas, and fresh fruit. Oh, and can't forget the boiled eggs; mine were still warm from just coming off the stove. Coffee on the table, along with place settings of actual plates and utensils. Nothing plastic or paper. He made sure everything was refilled and asked if there was anything else we needed. It was a pleasant visit and the personal touches by the owners made it a great experience. If we are ever in Holbrook again, we will definitely stay here.
