My husband and I did a short Route 66 trip to Holbrook AZ and spent the night 10/20/13 at the Wigwam Motel. Our unit had been recently refurbished. New flooring, newly painted, new HVAC unit, new mattresses and linens. Immaculately clean. The room was very comfortable. Scads of hot water. It was actually a more pleasant experience than the newer chain motels we stayed in during this same trip. No loud footsteps overhead, no voices and doors slamming in the hallway.
I recommend to anyone who loves anything to do with "The Mother Road", to go to Holbrook and stay the night at the Wigwam. It was a great experience.

What can you say about the Wigwam? My wife and I usually require a king size bed (to keep from knocking knees) but we made an exception to stay at the Wigwam and slept in a double bed! It was well worth the mild discomfort! I think I would let someone whack me in the knees with a 2X4, rather then miss out on such an experience. The room was surprisingly large, clean and comfortable. I think I enjoyed the stay as much as I would have as a child. Very glad we decided to stay in a Wigwam! Have you slept in a Wigwam lately?

Room Tip: We asked for one double bed, but got a room with two. Surprisingly, there was still plenty of room.

The Wigwam is an amazing piece of Route 66 nostalgia. If you’re looking for amenities, don’t go here. But if you’re looking for a first class, 1950’s experience, this is the place. The shower was tiny but the beds are comfortable and our teepee (near the main road) was quiet.

Room Tip: We requested a room near the road and away from the railroad tracks and it worked out greta for us.

We were on an abbreviated Route 66 tour and we cam across one of the many Wigwam Motel spots (#6).

The Motel doesn't open till 3pm, we were too early, to actually see in one of the Wigwam rooms. But we were able to see the outside and that was a real treat to those of us who appreciate cars.

The Parking lot is littered with cars from all eras of this great place. All looked like they were still in working order, well kind of! None had flat tires and looked cared for.

The store was closed, doesn't open till 3pm, but from what we could see through the window it is still a great place to hang out with a lounging area to one side with big flat screen TV and museum/Indian shop on the other end.

Great stop, well maintained. We traveled with out 36ft motor home and there is plenty of room to drive through the motel.

Room Tip: Easy access from the street. RV's can drive though. Great collection of antique cars.

The kids loved this place. Was it the St. Regis? Not even close, but it was a super fun location to spend the night on Route 66 and launching point to see the petrified forest. It's clean and its a concrete wigwam/teepee that is where the amenities start and stop. It is pet friendly. There are old cars you can check out and the front desk is friendly.

Funky, fun and a classic - it is what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything else. The folks were friendly, free wi-fi in the office and for those of us traveling Route 66 in our classic cars, a is a must-do stop. The rooms are clean, small and dated. Now we can say that we stayed at the Wigwams.... don't need to do that again.

What a treat!! Spotlessly clean, quiet and reasonably priced. I felt like I took a trip back in time. When was the last time you slept in a Wig Wam? Retro cars parked in front, period furniture, museum in office. Friendly staff!
We were lucky and had a beautiful sunset that blew us away.
There is no in room coffee, no breakfast--nothing fancy-just plain fun!!
