As wannabe Route 66 'road scholars', how could we not stay here?!? God bless owner Elinore Lewis for keeping her dad's landmark so pristine. (As such, there's not a coffee-maker or microwave in the room -- but there's a convenience store across the street; easy trade-off!) We had a glitch w/ the water pressure, but all worked out fine. There's a museum, off the lobby, with facinating displays -- not just for us Route 66 nuts, but also Southwestern history buffs and naturalists (Mr. Lewis was instrumental in the establishment of the Petrified Forest preserve). Stay here! Now!

Unique place but really dated. Two fairly comfy double beds, Tight fit in the bathroom for any large persons. No outlets in bath for shavers/hair dryers. TV but no WiFi. Pricey for what you get unless you really value sleeping in a WigWam. One night just to say you did it may be worth it but would not recommend any longer. Located in the older part of town, not on the strip that parallels the interstate with the newer motels. Office really doesn't open until around 4:00 or 5:00 PM.

Room Tip: We were in unit 2. Think most are about the same.

Yes, they're bijou (as dreaded property guys would say) but we had 2 double beds in ours yet there was still space to walk between them. The rooms have neither flat-screen TV's nor power showers but you are in a concrete wigwam motel after all. For the price they are comfortable, clean and very, very affordable.

Check out the small museum in the store for some Route 66/Arizona artifacts, take in the magnificent array of old cars and, hmmm, the passing freight trains. The locos and their 1 mile of containers were not too frequent, certainly didn't stop us from sleeping and wouldn't stop us from staying again if passing by Holbrook. In fact, the air-con was louder but that was no louder than other motels/inns. So, in all, a recommended 1 night stop-off motel.

I had been really looking forward to this stop and was not disappointed. The place looks awesome. I'm so glad you can still find strange little places like it to stay at. But take it for what it is. A low budget offbeat cool motel. Not an upscale hotel.

There was one tiny window to look out as the other was filled with the a/c unit. The shower takes the brunt of the awkward room shape. It was fine for me, but my husband waited till our next stop because the low shower head height would have caused him to duck down the whole time. If it's not check in times, the front office is locked up. Make sure you get ice or souvenirs while they're open.

This was one of the best nights sleep I had on our trip. With the exception of the air kicking on or getting loud for some reason & waking me up, everything was so dark & quiet due to the limited windows and thick concrete walls. We slept in a bit longer than we meant to.

I wanted to stay at this place as more of a novelty than anything else. My grandsons were excited to hear that I was staying at the "Cozy Cone Motel" from the movie "Cars".

The rooms are small (because you're in a wigwam) but very clean. The beds were comfortable. It's a basic motel - the office is only open from 4 PM - 9 PM. The only thing that I would have liked is to have a phone in the room. The old cars parked outside beside each wigwam just add to the atmosphere.
