Have been here many times and love it's character. Each person/family has their own wigwam and inside it's not fany. Decorated in southwest decor, log beds. bathroom is teeny with stand up shower but it is to be expected due to shape. There is an old refurbished car in front of each wigwam so its like you have gone back in time. Kids LOVE it. It's just so different. It's price is very affordable and perfect for a night before or after Grand Canyon if that's where your heading. It has been in the same family since built so lets keep them in business!

We stayed at the Wigwam on a family trip over spring break. We walked in the lob y to the wonderful scent of pinon burning stove. The room was clean as a whistle. It was amazingly efficient with two double beds amd a bath. I even used the shower in the morning and it was small but clean. It was a bit too short for my husband. We have stayed in high end hotels all across the country, but our kids liked this one best. Best $65 we could have spent. This is the quentessential route 66 experience.

Okay it IS kitschy, but it has been around for 80 years so it is entitled to be considered Americana now! After all it is on the National Register of Historic Places! The units really are individual teepees. The rooms are basic and the bathroom is tiny like on a cruise ship. If you are an NFL lineman you would struggle to take a shower. But it was clean, the beds were comfortable, the AC worked great, the price was good, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had called ahead and had a reservation but did not get there until after the office closed at 9PM and they just left our key under the doormat. In the morning I asked the maid if there was an ice machine and she took our cooler and filled it.. The whole place is too cute. How many times do you take ten pictures of your motel? Especially at $58 a night? There is no restaurant on premises but a cute cafe up the street a block. There are no "kids activities" but I would think kids would love the whole idea of sleeping in a teepee. Plus it was alluded to in the Disney/Pixar movie "Cars" as the motel in Radiator Springs. There are lots of cool vintage cars parked in the lot too, perhaps as a tribute to that.

We stayed at the WigWam for the nostalgia....and we got it! Each room is a little wigwam. Not very big inside, but big enough. Clean, air conditioner worked well. No internet, no phone (not a problem). The only problem encountered was no plug for the hairdryer (no 3 prong outlets). No ice either. But we were thrilled to stay there! No tubs, only a shower, and not much shelf space. But none of that mattered! We stayed in a wigwam! Very cool.

Room Tip: Trains pass right by the back ones. I'd try to get one by the street, if available.

My daughter and I were traveling the route, and stopped by here hoping they had a room. At first they said they were booked, and being that they only have 13 rooms that was expected. We decided to take a look around and take pictures of the old cars and wigwams. We were just about to leave when the front desk lady came up to us and asked if we were still interested in the room because they had a cancellation. Of course we took it! The room was clean, bed comfortable, and seemed pretty private. We turned the air on and it was a little loud, but that was ok for us. I know other reviewers were mentioning trains passing, and yes the wigwams are ALL next to the train tracks which run all night. We didn't really notice the noise at all, at one point we turned everything off (AC included) to see how it sounded, and I barely noticed it. Maybe the other reviewers are light sleepers? With the AC on we didn't hear anything. (We were in Wigwam 3) The shower is pretty small, but that is to be expected when you are working with a small space. The curtains are a little thin so we were woken quite early, but we hung our beach towels over them and went back to sleep. Loved this motel, for the nostalgia and the little town. Would absolutely stay here again. Reservations are a must though as 13 rooms get filled up quickly!

Room Tip: Make a reservation!!! If you're an early riser the light from the curtains won't be a problem.
