Molly Butlers in Greer AZ was recommended by 2 friends of mine as one of best places to eat. The dinning staff was friendly and we received good service. The atmosphere was great and the place is clean.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! They served me and another customer that was on the deck “raw partly frozen fried chicken breast”. The waitress was ready to vomit also. She hurried my plate to the kitchen and trotted to the deck to check the second meal. The customer on the deck had not cut into there meal yet.
Who knows what other health violations the kitchen is guilty of? Free meals won’t make me want to go back. We were there for lunch on June 10th 2010.

Wasted weekend...... We were excited to stay and eat at Molly Butler Lodge. The weather was beautiful and we wanted to eat at the restaurant before check-in. As we waited to be seated, the Owner told us that he would not seat us because of the 30 minute wait for food - WOW, the place was wide open for seating. His tone of voice was one of fustration and he made the comment as he was walking by. A few minutes later, he came back and we stated that we would wait and he said "NO" - he would not serve us........... We had to pay for the reservation and left......

Hi There,

Thank you for your review of our Lodge. We have under gone some changes since your review and would like you to give us another shot if you are ever in the Greer area again! We would also like to let you know, we have never and will never charge for reservations for dining service and would like some clarification on what exactly you may have been charged for?

As for the seating wait generally as any restaurant in the business can tell you, we do have to have a wait sometimes even if there is an open table. Sometimes our kitchen may have a lot of tickets or a large party may have just ordered before your arrival or a server in that section is at max capacity, all just different things that happen in restaurants on a busy night that can cause some delays in service if a guest were to be sat immediately. Sometimes the 5-30 minute wait you experience will be so that when we do get you seated, we can provide you with great service and the best possible experience for all of our guests!

Regardless, that does not excuse treating any of our valued guests in a rude or passive manner and for that we deeply apologize , we have also under gone ownership change since your review and we hope that you will come and give us another chance to make your dining experience a pleasant one!

My husband and I wanted to take a ski trip but with having dogs, we wanted to go somewhere where they can stay with us. We found greer cabin keepers that had Sunrise ski resort that was about 20 min away. It was an absolutely great time. The staff for cabin keepers were friendly and courteous and they even had the cabin "opened" for us because we might not have made it to their courtesy desk by closing time. It's May now and we just called up to get a cabin for the weekend. It's almost like having your own personal home cabins up there.

My sister had used Greer Cabin Keepers before and recommended it to us. We booked a cabin that supposedly had "satellite" TV, which of course didn't exist when we showed up. Cabin was FILTHY, cobwebs everywhere, huge spiders set-up a cozy home in the bathtub which obviously hadn't been cleaned for quite some time. Metal roof was loose and the wind had it banging up and down all night. Lamps didn't work, or were missing bulbs, bathroom wall light fixture had missing bulbs with exposed sockets, ceiling fan didn't work either. The 2 futon beds in the livingroom were broken - wouldn't fold into couches despite the repeat visits from the handyman Robert. The futon mattresses were so old and warn thin, the wooden slats of the mattress frame poke your back all night long. The small space-heater didn't work the majority of the time, so it was very cold unless we had a fire going. THEN after charging $200 per night for this filthy place, they have the nerve to post these VERY RUDE signs everywhere, telling us to take out the trash and "help them out" by doing the laundry!!! this place charges a cleaning fee, then demands that YOU do the cleaning, or they will place a $250 fee on your CC after you go? we will NEVER us this company again.

After having an extremely bad experience in Greer, Arizona we happened to notice some cabins for rent at Greer Cabin Keepers right off the Little Colorado River. The owners were very very helpful and sympathetic to our recent “issue”. They showed us several outstanding properties at price about half or two thirds the going rate at the local “name” resorts. We selected the Beaver Pond Cabin. It was superb. Clean, quiet, well appointed and well equipped. Good price as well. We plan on returning to Greer, Arizona in part because of our happy experience with Cabin Keepers. We highly recommend them. Please check them out first, before you get ripped off by the local “name” resorts.

While the scenery is absolutely gorgeous, we did encounter some significant problems with the lodge. There was no security lock on the door which one opened with a key. These types of locks are very easy to pick. Secondly, the bathroom door was warped and would not stay closed. Beware of booking Room # 2, as it is right next door to the storeroom/office which was not far from the kitchen, and all the cooking smells seeped right into the room. Also, the walls are paper thin and since the room was located adjacent to the bar and outside deck, the noise at night was very loud.

On the other hand the bar and restaurant were quite good with excellent service and food. The view of the mountain meadow from the restaurant was incredible. We didn't see any elk or deer, but did hear a bear growl! We concluded that the lodge must be run separately from the bar and restaurant since the two were managed so differently. Please be aware that once you have committed to however many nights you want to stay, you are bound to it. Apparently, this is the policy for all accomodations in Greer. Still and all, you simply have to experience the scenery!
