We bought a Groupon for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom suite. The resort says it is just outside Tucson so we were planning on visiting friends for lunch. It is on the south side of Green Valley and is a good 35-40 minutes away. That was ok since there are a couple of nice little spots nearby.

The resort itself is a part of the Wyndham vacation villas. They are not traditional hotel rooms which is what we liked. It was nice having a real refrigerator and other appliances. The furniture was a bit worn out. The first thing my wife said was that it was pretty beaten up. That was in reference to the dining room table but also applied to the bedroom furniture. There seating was not worn out or beaten up tho. The chair with ottoman was almost unusable, so uncomfortable. The bed was not very comfortable either. We are used to nigher end hotel beds I guess. This one was very springy and felt cheap.

This resort is in a senior active living complex. There are no restaurants near the hotel other than the gold course restaurant. You have to drive at least 10 miles for food of any kind. Also, there were not many people staying there when we were there. Maybe because it is shoulder season and the golf course is getting ready for over-seeding for winter play. Man, I miss playing golf (disabled now)

The scenery was very pretty. While driving on I-19 you can see why it is called Green Valley. The staff were nice. The breakfast with made to order omelets was good, which was included with the stay.

The housekeeping staff needs to dust and clean the place better. The table insert that was in the walking closet was covered with dust. The entertainment center also had a lot of dust on the top. Being 6'4"+ I can see things like that better than most. The water is hard and has a lot of minerals in it so they should be more proactive in keeping the water dispensing items cleaned (faucets, ice and drinking water dispenser). Also found it interesting that there were a ton of hangers in the walk-in closet but none in the closet in the bedroom.

It was nice. We probably won't go back, but that is more because of the distance from anything. If you play gold this is probably a good place to stay.

Room Tip: If you play gold this would be a nice place to stay. I would also ask for rooms in building 12 or 5. The other building has rooms that look towards the mines so the views aren't as nice. Ours were very nice and we were in building 12.

Doug C,
We appreciate your feedback and you taking the time to write a review about our resort. I am disappointed that your stay did not meet your expectations. Since it was your first time to Green Valley I understand how it might be a different type of atmosphere than you would normally expect. Green Valley is a retirement community, but our hotel is open to all ages. The restaurant that you ate breakfast at during your stay is also open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week until 8:00 p.m. Most of the restaurants in Green Valley close around 8:00 p.m. but there is a Safeway grocery store that is only 5.4 miles from our resort. Many of our guests that stay in our luxurious suites choose to buy groceries at that Safeway and take advantage of the fully equipped kitchens. We are currently over seeding the golf course, and will be re-opening the course on October 26th. We have ordered all new bedding for our resort and will be updating all of our rooms by the end of this year. We hope that you will come back and experience our newly updated rooms next year.

With Hospitality,
Brian Wright
