“Not what I expected”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

Having lived in Germany some years ago, and visited since, I expected German food that I remember loving in that country. However, I was very disappointed in Haus Murphy's. My favorite dish is Sauerbraten, but this one fell short . The meat, although generous in amount was dry and tasteless. The sauce tasted artificial, the dumplings were also lacking flavor and had a strange texture even though the waiter said they were potato dumplings. My husband ordered veal schnitzel and said it was okay. It was again a generous piece of meat served on a platter with nothing but fried potatoes. Very unappetizing looking . The soup which comes with the meal, was very good and the atmosphere is very German. However I would not go back.

“Always a pleasure”

We have visited Haus Murphy three times and have always enjoyed the food and the service. The food is well-prepared and authentic. Service is good and the wait staff have a sense of humor and the ability to relate to their clients.

“Another DDD”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

Another Guy Fieri choice and it was a good one. Not really a dive. It is a restaurant with a bar, inside seating and outside patio seating for lunch and dinner. It serves German food which is good and plentiful. We had Saurbraten with Red Cabbage and Spaetzle. It had three good size pieces of meat, unfortunately is was a little overdone, but flavorful. We also had Wiener Schnitzel, which was extremely well prepared with excellent flavor. The place has good selection of German beer of which we availed ourselves. The prices are a tad high, but you get what you pay for. Two entrees, one small beer and one large beer was 50 dollars for lunch. The point though is this lunch sufficed for dinner for us. We just had some snacks later. A good place to try.

We always look forward to a visit to this wonderful German restaurant. Had the beef roladen and the Jaeger Schnitzel, and both were excellent and authentic. Service was very good

“Incredible food”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

If you like German food, this is the place for you! I've had both lunch and dinner here. If you like sandwiches, the Black Forest Ham with Pears and nut spread is the best sandwich you'll find anywhere! Then top of your meal with dessert. The chef makes a German Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake with Sour Cream frosting. It is the best!
