Description: The creation of Le Chalet was much like our fondue.  Yes, we are a little “cheesy!”  But, much like a good fondue, we have melted the talents and abilities of all our staff to bring about only the best for our customers.                   Alain, who attended the American Musical Dramatic Academy in New York, has a broad background in Broadway.  Performing shows, such as La Cage aux Folles and Cabaret, he desires to bring only the best entertainment to Le Chalet’s stage.  His aspiration for Le Chalet is the entertainment of NY, similar to that of Don’t Tell Mama or Duplex.  Alain, who has performed as Cookie Monster, Count Von Count, and Telly Monster, loves children as well; so bring them into Le Chalet for an autograph!  His experience in the restaurant business began as a starving actor.  In need for more income, he has worked at Laurent and Maxim’s, which is owned by designer Pierre Cardin.  Alain has “performed” as a personal butler for celebrities at the Sony Club as well.          Even the décor of Le Chalet has been a melting of personalities.  From authentic French posters and French street signs to the hand painted mural, painted by Alain’s nephew, every look was created by the staff.  Step inside, and you have entered a little European village.  An overhang of the bar to look like a chalet is located near a mountain ice-caped stage.   So, ski (or snowboard) on by and stop in for a bite to eat….but, do watch out for the cows located throughout Le Chalet!

“Ay special restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

This is a wonderful little French/Swiss restaurant with a menu built around crepes, cheese and chocolate. All the major food groups. If you'er on a diet, this is the place. They have a number of plates under 216 calories. If you just want gourmet, nearly every thing qualifies. The have excellent wines and have added more convential dinners. The last night we were there they offered sea bass and lamb chop dinners with potatoes. My only question is,,, Why isn't this place packed with customers? There's never a waiting line.

“French getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

From the moment you walk in, you can take a glance at the decor and know this will be a nice unique experience. From the huge horn that's several feet long, unique silver w marks engraved, wood tables, cows, TVs to watch the chef make crepes and open view of the kitchen to watch. It has the view of a european village in the moutain ice caped area. The menu could be redone and better pictures would help them but everything listed sounded great and different from a typical restaurant in Arizona. The desert and meal crepes taste delicious, the cheesy mozzarella thin bread that they serve for free was delicious. As far as the Table Side French raclette it was really just a plate of cold cuts(not something I'd order again due to price and nothing special about the meat), the steamed potatoe fingers were bland, and the raclette cheese was quite a strong taste I couldn't eat much or finish it bc I didn't like it, watching them shave the cheese off w their cooker was the most exciting part of that plate but I wouldn't order that for its price. The La Potence I'd reccommend; They bring a tray and Flambeed the meat right there which is fun to watch, the meat was tasty and juicy and the dips were fun to try. The Atlantic Salmon Flammenkuchen was pretty good, it's like a think crust pizza in American terms. The potatoe chips they make we're quite delicious as well! The food list is unique and different, the price is a little high but worth the little getaway to a unique French restaurant in Arizona. Take your loved one on a date or just go for some delicious dessert crepes.

“You must do this !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

What a nice change from the usual... I hadn't been here in over a year. I tried the Atlantic Salmon Flammenkuchen with a nice Merlot. Nice, big flavors. And the wine, nice as well... The happy hour prices are great. $2 off drinks and appetizers! Cozy/casual atmosphere, not 'snooty' . Looking forward to going back.

“Great Place to Eat!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

We were in Glendale in January 2013 and were looking for a great meal. This restaurant is a hidden gem!!! We tried an appetizer Flammenkuchen, La Potence (beef with a flare), Fermiere (chicken crepe), and Crepe William (dessert with chocolate and pears). All were outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

“A touch of France in Arizona”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Located on the outskirts of the surrounding Arrowhead Mall shopping area you would never know how wonderful this is until you go inside.First time for us and found out this is a real favorite of the locals, lots of them were coming in.
This is not quite a fine dining French Restaurant,it is very laid back and casual, however the food is outstanding with nice simple cozy warm decor. You are greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome. So many things to look over on the menu. The waiter also making you feel very welcome, let us know the favorites and gave some great suggestions. Appetizers can start out to be a cheese fondue, french cold cuts, melted cheese, flammenkuchen, lots to choose from. We chose to start with the Flammenkuchen, one had apples, bacon, onions, swiss, the other had blue cheese, walnuts, pears, a nice start since it is only a small 6 inch portion. The cheese fondue looked pretty good too. Our main course was their house specialty LaPotence, better known as The Hanging Man, 7 0z beef tenderloin flambeed tableside on a tall hanging skewer with bourbon flambeed on top and bottom of an iron skillet filled with rice. The meat starts out to be rare and ends up on the skewer that can get up to almost 500 degrees, ours sat for about a minute as recomended to get to a very nice medium with red in the middle. Just perfect. Came also with a nice rice that we put our circle of garlic butter on and some nice meat dipping sauces. The presentation is very entertaining and informational, not to mention the best beef I have had in a very long time. The dessert menu was a nice seleciton of crepes and cheeses. We chose the Grand Marnier crepe with orange rind, vanilla ice cream and of course Grand Marnier. We also chose the Crepe Williams with flambeed pears, chocolate ganache and pear liqueur and vanilla ice cream, also accompied with french pressed coffee. They also had some nice chocolate fondue to choose from. The outdoor patio is also very nice. Can understand why so many keep coming back here. We will be going back to try the fondue and other crepes. One little note, they have painted signs advertising lunch on one of the windows which could be deceiving, didn't look appropriate, but did not stop us from going in and having a wonderful evening.
