“Pleasantly surprised.”

Desert Canyon Golf Club
Reviewed November 10, 2013

This course was great. I was pleasantly surprised considering how much we paid. It was half the cost of a resort course and we enjoyed it so much more. The pace of play was spot on. The views were amazing on this course as well.

This course was in excellent shape, staff was great and pace of play was excellent. Greens were a tad slow but that I guess is pretty normal for this time of year. Several very scenic holes and if you hit it reasonably straight you were rewarded with good lies. Crooked shots were penalized in the desert scrub.

Definitely would play again.

Wonderful place to visit, tucked away in Fountain Hills. Very romantic setting and fabtastic spa. Worth treating yourself to a few nights away it won't disappoint.

This course has been great for years but a comprehensive makeover has made it even better. New tees, beautiful lush fairways, soft and deep "real" sand-traps, leading to excellent putting surfaces make what was very good really excellent. New markers on the course make distance to the pin easy.
Desert Canyon is for the low to mid handicapper. It is not a championship course nor is it a course for the beginner or duffer. Every hole is challenging, but not impossible. Set in the magnificent scenery of Fountain Hills, Arizona, this course meanders through stunning desert landscapes. Changes in view, slope, and elevation keep you interested and challenged throughout.
I played last Saturday and Sunday completing both rounds in about 4 hours, about average for courses in this area. The green fees are reasonable making this course a real value.

Back nine was being repaired. Played front nine twice. No Marshall's on course to assist slow players. Took almost 6 hours for the round for a course rated at 4 hours 15 minutes. Would look for different course next time.
