“Goofiest Course I Have Ever Played”

Desert Canyon Golf Club
Reviewed March 19, 2011

This course is in decent shape, has a few good holes, it's not a hard track, and its a reasonable price but I would not recommend this course for a low handicap golfer. Myself and a friend (I am a 9 handicap and he is a scratch handicap) thought this course was a laugh. It is only 6400 from the tips and the second hole is a 230 yard par 3 straight up a hill that plays about 260 yards. Where do you get room for a 230 yard par 3 on this short of a course? Some of the other holes are just weird. The 18th fairway has a bout a 10 foot landing area where you arent screwing yourself over. It was a good laugh and a decent price but I would not play this course again over others I could play for the same price. It is not a tough course though as I played terrible golf where I would have shot in the 90s at other courses but I got away with a 77 here. It is not a recommend course.

Played here in March on the advice of Chris at Sonoran Suites, he was right on. Probably the best valuein Scottsdale, $100, great shape, fun layout. Staff in the golf shop was top notch.

Very nice golf course located about a half hour from Scottsdale. Since they are trying to draw players out from the city they offer somewhat "normal" rates (compared to the high season rates near Phoenix)(Under $100). The day we played they gave us 2 free drink tickets! Course was challenging and in great shape. Beautiful views both on the course and from the clubhouse/restaurant. Fountain Hills is a growing upscale "retirement" type community so the course winds between newly constructed "mini-mansions".
