We only stayed one night as we passed through but I would go out of my way to stay there again. The staff was helpful and friendly while making recommendations for food and entertainment but what really set them apart was the attention to detail in the rooms. There was a microwave, Refrigerator, hairdryer, iron and ironing board which I guess are fairly common but things like the patio area which had a great view plus picnic tables and a gas BBQ and the TV remote that had been sanitized set this place apart in our experience.

We stayed 1 night while sightseeing in the area, and were totally happy with the accommodations. We were in 204 which was a king bed room. The bed was comfy, and had nice bedding. There was a comfortable easy chair. There was a convenient fridge and microwave, and the air conditioner worked well. Everything is fresh and updated -- albeit with a certain charm found only in older accommodations. The young man who checked us in was friendly, and helpful with finding a place to eat dinner. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, so if it's difficult to climb stairs be aware.

By staying at this motel, I thought I would save lots of money to be better spent in Sedona for our Anniversary trip. There is really nothing wrong with this place......except that it lacks a certain charm and the views I was hoping for. Even though we had a mini-suite which was perfectly adequate and as represented, there was only one window in the room, which faced the back of the "front building". Our "view" was had only by venturing out onto the communal balcony and looking left over the top of the shell gas station on the corner. When you check in, you are treated to a view of the laundry and the owner's real estate office. The pool had a cover over it the entire time we were there. Nonetheless, the place was chock full of people enjoying the reasonable rates and almost views which is what this place offers........if you want "special" or "ambience", keep going. We rebooked into a hotel in Sedona with more privacy, more room, a terrace with red rock views and a higher price tag but once again, we realized that you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: front bldg, 2nd floor

Happy Anniversary! Thank you for the review! Sedona is 20 miles from us and we do offer one of the best values in the area. Our rooms are clean, affordable and centrally located to many attractions nearby. We don't pretend to be a resort and offer the best "basics" around with 32" flat screen TVs, feather blankets, kitchens, ironing boards, microwaves, hair dryers and clean rooms - Our pool is seasonal and "officially" opened from Memorial Day to Labor Day but those dates are flexible depending on the weather.

We stayed at Pines Motel in April 2014. Chose the property based on good Trip Advisor ratings. Room was clean, quiet, and very adequate. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were not disappointed and will stay here again if we come back to Cottonwood.

Pines Motel had the exact small-town feel I was looking for in my travels. Windows faced east which made it easy to get up in the morning, and you can see Sedona across the valley - they were so smart to build right there. I loved all the green initiatives, too: there was a separate recycling bin, etc. Checkin was so friendly, and it's in a really convenient spot in town. Everything worked in the room just perfectly which is unfortunately not something that can be said for the other hotels in my travels. To boot, the room was laid out really mindfully, with plenty of space for the suitcase near the bathroom/dressing area, and plenty of counter space that fit my cosmetics suitcase. It was nice not to have to unpack it to fit all the little bottles. It was all just right. I would certainly return there and suggest anyone traveling to Cottonwood, Jerome or Sedona, DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR and STAY HERE! It's way less expensive than the surrounding areas, you'll still probably get a better experience, and within a reasonable drive. The picnic are a was really nice too, to enable the time spent outdoors (that is why we're there, right)? I am more than happy to return mentally to the Pines Motel to write them an outstanding review. :D

Green Features: More than I expected. So pleasantly surprised. At first I thought the little motel soaps were so small! Then realized, since most stays (mine included) are probably just a night or two, bigger soaps would just be excessive. This place just had it down.

We spent 2 nights here in March while touring the Cottonwood/Sedona area and taking in the Verde Canyon Train Ride. Wonderful place for an older Motel.....quiet, neat, clean. Well run and the owner/employees were polite and helpful.. Location is great. Central to everything (Jerome, Clarkdale & Sedona). Price for a 2 night stay aver. $77 per night (Weekend rates are a bit higher).

We also found a great place to dine.....The Cork & Catch, not far from the Motel. It was so good we went 2 nights in a row.

We will be back to stay here again next winter.

spent only one night here while visiting nearby Jerome. Motel was clean, quiet, and is pet friendly (as evidenced by a little barking from a dog in the room above ours. At &79 per night, our room included( though we did not utilize) a nice little kitchenette with 2 burner electric stove top, microwave, and good sized fridge.
Beds were comfy, though a little on the soft side for my taste.
Overall, a good value. I would stay there again next time I'm in the Cottonwood/Jerome area.
