We have visited several times. The wines are always superb. The winemaker Sam Pillsbury, is an Arizona celebrity due to his craft and success. The sommeliers that provide the tastings are the most knowledgeable and wine-centric individuals I have experienced in over 100 different winery tastings across the country.
If you're looking for a nice wine tasting place in Cottonwood, this is a good place to start. The tasting is generous. There are small treats which accompany your tasting. And, the service is wonderful.
We enjoyed their combo flight. I loved their stemmed glasses. We did find one wine we liked. The pourer was quite knowledgeable and helped us a lot.
This was our first wine stop of the day. It was a cute place. Our pourer was nice. We did not really find a wine we liked except the Mouvredre.
We chose Pillsbury Wine Company as our destination for wine tasting after reading review from several wineries in the area. My husband and I shared the red flight and particularly liked two the ones we tasted. We decided to purchase three bottles since the $11 tasting fee was waived with the purchase and we liked the wine. All three bottles showed as $28 on the tasting menu, but the person pouring the wine rang two of them up at $32. We pointed out that the price was $28 per the tasting menu and expected him to make the change. He told us that it was a mistake on the tasting menu and wouldn't honor the price. Although wew liked the wine, I think that was lame and they should honor the price on their tasting menu since it was their mistake. So I would give the wine a good rating, but not the customer service.
This place reminded me of a late 60s-early 70s coffee house. There was a group playing music, people were sitting on couches and tables and wine was flowing. There are many great choices of wine to sample. While we were there one of the local restaurants sent a place of sausage and ribs for the customers to sample. This is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. If our hotel hadn't been so far away we would have stayed longer.
