We just had our first UTC experience. Although the entire area was populated by 5000 bikers in town for Thunder Rally, we arrived at our reserved time and were seated within minutes. The owners said that 300 motorcyclists had just been there. Looking around it was obvious the staff took that in stride - all was calm.
Driving by, the place looks plain butr walk inside and take a trip into history. Originally started as a sandwich shop by Jim Page (Page Springs), the owners bought it several years ago and lovingly upgraded it to historic coziness. A multisided fireplace, tables along the windows over looking the creek and vintage touches made for a romantic setting.
And lastly, but most importantly, the food is astounding. We have traveled all over the West and rate it one of the top 5 meals. Today, the owner, Greg, offered a hickory smoked salmon with homemade tartar sauce as an appetizer. That would have been all I needed but as we watched other food go by, we continued on. The fish tacos were panko breaded, fried with no trace of grease and abundantly garnished with sauces and fresh cabbage. My husband had the hand made vegetarian burger and the texture and flavor was almost identical to beef. And vegetarians rejoice, there are few choices for you in this part of Arizona. We sampled the fresh made onion rings and garlic fries. All perfect! Everything is made from scratch and never frozen.
The entire staff was welcoming, and couldnt do enough for all of the diners around us! Even serving items not yet on the menu until dinner. The cost of our late lunch was an amazing value. There isnt anything on the menu over $20 for dinners and lunches are well under that.
The owners have a passion for food and it shows. We cant wait to go back. Thank you Greg and Dawn for al lovely lunch along the creek!
And for those with children under 12, all kids meals include ice cream and are $6!
