“Great place to stay”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in early May. We stayed in the "bonus room".
A one bedroom which adjoins another room if you have a large family. The unit had a really nice living room, kitchenette, and separate bedroom and bathroom. Very nicely furnished and well equipped. Laundry facilities and all amenities on the property. We would definitely stay here again. The only thing I would change is putting a sliding door between the licing area and the bedroom. There is a sliding curtain.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are convenient and very nice

We were very pleased with our week stay at Highlands Resort at Verde Ridge! Our studio unit was well-appointed, comfortable and spacious. We were in Building C and had no problems. We enjoyed the pool, the Jacuzzi tub and the laundry facility while there (all nice). We also used the grilling area one night, which was great. We were offered the tour when we checked-in but we politely refused and there was no pressure at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Resort is conveniently located off the highway for all of your excursions into Sedona and surrounding towns. It's about 20 minutes to Sedona and it's a beautiful drive into town. We would definitely stay here again if in the Sedona area and would definitely recommend it family and friends.

At first glance this is an unassuming resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the attention to detail makes a big difference in your stay. Little touches like the chocolates in the bedroom wouldn't matter if they didn't deliver on the rest of the promise; the units and furnishings are comfortable and attractive, the pool and hot tubs were a treat, and the affiliation with the golf course worked out well the day we played. It's nitpicking to say that I wish the units had their own washer/dryer. I don't like to do much laundry on vacation to begin with, but it can be very handy to throw a small load in. Considering how dusty we got on so many wonderful hikes in the area, I did go across and use the free machines in the rec center and it was just fine.

The location is very convenient, close to Sedona without being in the midst of the hubbub, and just a short drive away from Cottonwood and Jerome (both of which deserved more exploration - we'll have to go back!). There are plenty of sites and sights nearby without actually going to Sedona, but don't give Sedona and the Red Rock country short shrift.

Area restaurants and eateries we'd recommend: The Schoolhouse, Hog Wild, and Bocce in Cottonwood. Sedona Memories, Golden Goose Cafe, Oak Creek Brewing Company/Simon's Hot Dogs, and Indian Gardens Oak Creek Market in or near Sedona.

Hikes we loved - Cathedral Rock, Devil's Bridge, West Fork Oak Creek Canyon, and Boynton Canyon.

Sites/Sights - Palatki Heritage Site, Montezuma's Well, Chapel of the Holy Cross, V-Bar-V Heritage Site.

Weather in March was ideal - cool at night, sunny and mid-70s in the afternoon.

Room Tip: Facing the golf course puts you away from the road with nice views across the valley.

As it is so convenient both to Sedona and Cottonwood, we have been back at least three times. The one-bedroom unit is well-supplied, the shower spacious and the furniture comfortable. Liked the first floor near the pool which was central to our enjoyment of the property. The friendly and helpful staff is just icing on the cake.

Nice room, spacious, light. Great amenities- pool, laundry, golf course with breakfast and lunch, etc.

Building F 106 and 10 7 no hot water on 4th day and it took them over 24 hours to fix. Stated it happens frequently.

We booked through RCI. The one bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. Great bathroom, jetted tub, large glass shower, fully equipped kitchen. It is noisy on the balcony or patio because the units are very close together. Nearby golf, pool, spa, tiny kids playground. Beds are a little too firm for me but everything worked perfectly. Front desk folks helpful and knowledgeable. We took the RCI sales tour and it was really no pressure. Definitely would stay again.

Room Tip: Would stay away from Bldg F when the pool is open if you are looking for a more quiet environment.
