Fibber Magee's has the look and feel of an Irish pub but there seems to be something missing. Although difficult to replicate such an historic culture, Magee's doesn't go hardcore with it's decor. The tables and chairs looked like they were leftovers from various close-out sales as they just looked tossed in randomly.
The food was okay but I was a bit taken aback when I was charged extra for a side of mayo. The prices were on the high end. I had corned beef and cabbage. The beef was good with interesting flavor profiles. The cabbage was done well. The plate came with a mountain of mashed potatoes that were just that-potatoes. Very forgettable. The garlic fries were yummy but with the potatoes, was too much starch. Add a beer and the extra charge for mayo and the tab plus tip came to a little over $27.
Overall, Magee's is a good place, it just needs some tweaking.
