Description: Our pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood than the mesquite used by others. Along with time and oak, we cook with a dry spice that ensures each plate of Rudy's Bar-B-Q is perfectly ready for you. Apply some of our famous "Sause" and dinner is served.

I enjoyed this place. The staff were very friendly and patient with newcomers. The food was good with the emphasis on meat. Variety of meat was good and the potato salad was excellent. Decor was interesting.

Went to Rudy's yesterday for an early lunch with friends. This was our first visit to a Rudy's, so we weren't sure how it operated. It's a large place, and there is no one to seat you when you come in, so eventually we figured out that you make your way up to the order window, and along the way you grab a beverage from one of the big ice-filled vats containing a wide array of soft drinks and beers. Once we stated it was our first time there, the gal at the counter gave us a variety of their meats to try. Once you have decided on your meats, you can grab potato salad, coleslaw, etc. from the cooler. Hot sides you ask for at the counter and they'll dish them up.
Okay, so we get our food which came to $42 for 4 people, including 2 beer, and 2 cokes. Then you sidle up to the condiments "bar" and get yourself some pickles, onions, hot peppers, etc.
There are no plates at this place - you eat off of waxed butcher paper. Get yourself some plastic cutlery and lots of napkins, and open your beverage bottles (there's an opener on the wall). Find a table - make sure you've got lots of elbow room so that you can properly enjoy your feast. And a feast it was - the moist brisket was very good, as was the pulled pork, and the potato salad was probably the best I've ever had in a restaurant - just like home-made. The beans were just okay. When you're done eating, take heed of the sign on the wall, "Yo Mama ain't here, so clean up after yourself". We thought this was a neat place with very tasty food at very reasonable price. We would definitely go again. (Just for the record - it is nowhere in the same league as La Barbecue in Austin, TX but it is tasty food).

Have not been to Rudy's in years...but the same great sliced brisket sandwich...tender slices of flavorful beef overloaded the bun...ribs very flavorful and tender...great beans and potato salad and really good banana puddin'. Pleasant memories never tasted so good.
