“Fantastic, Serene and relaxing!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

First class. That pretty much sums it up! We stayed at this resort for 5 days back in November 2012 (sorry I am late in reviewing!), on a company trip. This was my first trip there and I have to say I will be back sometime soon! I am beach person so I was a bit reluctant if this trip would be any fun or even my type of trip. They exceeded my expectations abundantly! First class resort with very friendly staff, bartenders, waiters & waitresses. Their hospitality and attitudes were just awesome. They all seemed to enjoy working there and very willing to help people in any way possible. The rooms are clean and casually decorated in a western attire...the hallways play music of native american culture, a very light, peaceful, relaxing tune...makes you just wanna go.."ahhhhhhh". We loved the culture but also the casual atmosphere of the resort. The pools are fantastic and the service at the pool area was prompt and friendly. The background scenery with the golf course and then the mountains behind that is one of a kind! We were able to dine at the 5 star restaurant, Koi, and boy, was that an experience! Simply amazing! if you get a chance to go to Koi, please do. Its not every day you get to dine 5 star!! We were also able to spend a half day at the Aji Spa and how wonderful was that? We had pedicures and a couples massage that was fantastic! We were also able to enjoy lunch while at the spa, and we could have jumped in the spa pool but chose not to because it was a tad on the cool side the day we attended the spa. Overall, I was very impressed, as there is much more to do there than what we had time for, and I would also recommend going over to Rawhide Steakhouse & Saloon, which is just a couple blocks away. It is also a rendition of an old wild west town, with shops, restaurants, shows, horse rides and more! Its a great time as well. It is open during the week at 5 pm to like 11 pm and then on weekends during the day. Just down the road (you actually can pass it before you reach the resort) is the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, for those of you who like to try their luck...we didn't have any, but left it for everyone else! :) Overall, I look forward to returning soon, and hopefully getting to enjoy some of the activities that we could not fit in this time around. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: All areas seem to be pretty quiet, but we had one by the elevator and weren't bothered at all.

We took the family and enjoyed the waterslide and pools during the hot summer afternoons. Beware when traveling here during the summer months, rates are less, but many of the services run on a limited schedule or not at all during those months. Hotel grounds were beautiful and really capture the native american ambience in AZ. The Hotel was rural enough to really appreciate AZ nature, shopping and attractions were 10 minute drive awa, for us it was a perfect combination, you just definately need a rental car. The service and amenities didn't seem quite up to 5 star standard. Husband and daughter did the horseback riding with the company that the hotel uses. They had a nice early morning ride-although their was a mix up on them getting picked up at the hotel even though they made reservations in advance. Couldn't dine in the 5 star restaurant Kai, since it was closed the night we had available. Poolside food and drinks were good.

Room Tip: The hotel spreads out in a u shape, some rooms (like those near the parking lot for your rental car...

The service at Wild Horse is sublime. The views are pure Arizona serenity. This was our second stay and it was even better than the first. The Mustang and Massage at the Aji spa is a very special experience . A beautiful ride followed with expert massage...access to pool in serene setting and delicious lunch included. Fantastic day!

This property has something for everyone. You can go all out on a five star dining experience at Kai or get down to earth on horseback on the Koli equestrian centres horseback riding tours into the desert in search of the mysterious wild horses. The Aji Spa is relaxation at its finest and the 2.5 mile hike along the man made river is inspiring. If you prefer to check out the casino or the shoot em up cowboy town of Rawhide there is a boat or shuttle to take you there free of charge. The pima and maricopa people have a welcoming spirit despite having to fight 100 years for water rights in the area. The history, culture and peace that you find at this resort will have you feeling renewed and refreshed, We loved every moment!

Room Tip: Room rates vary but we had a southern room close to the spa and it was very quiet but we had to walk...

Stayed here for 3 nights with family for a combined business vacation trip. The wild horse pass is a great location and an absolute must for kids and for relaxation.

Pros:
Awesome beds with very comfortable pillows.
Nice patios. We got one near the pool.
Well maintained pools and lots of room in the pool for adults and kids. The main pool is only 3 feet all round so one can relax while the kids frolic around without the fear of them going to the deeper areas.
Water slide a real thrill for kids.
Great amenities and a real roomy bathroom with both a shower stall and a tub for indulgence.
Lot of hiking trails inside the resort with well groomed walkways.
Great golf for the amateurs as well as experienced golfers.

Cons
Paid internet unless you have SPG platinum or a conference passcode.
Learning curve with the A/C unit until you figure out how to use it.

Tips:
Hike along the nice paths for a real nature walk.
Dine at the Sivlik grill on the golf course for a relaxed breakfast or lunch as you watch the golfers practice.

Recently I stayed at the Sheraton Wild Horse pass in Chandler, AR. The room was clean and the resort was beautiful, but it was not within walking distance of anything. The prices at the hotel were out of this world, they charge you for everything. I was there on a business trip, so it would have been nice if the hotel offered more restaurants to eat at instead of having to drive everywhere to eat. Overall, if you like being stuck in the middle of the desert this place is for you.

Room Tip: Try to request a room on the upper level. May have a better view.

The resort and surrounding grounds are very nice. Rooms were clean and updated. All staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. They have a nice 2.5 mile interpretive trail through the desert my wife and I enjoyed one morning. Even saw three coyotes hunt a rabbit (unsuccessfully). They have a fire pit that they'll gladly start-up upon request.
The one thing I really don't like about it is how much everything was: the food, drink, they even charge $35 for small in room dorm fridge. You couldn't find a sandwich for less than $13, a glass of wine for less than $10 and a domestic beer for less than $5.50. They're able to charge that much because this resort is on an Indian reservation, with nothing else w/in walking distance. I highly recommend renting a car if you have a prolonged stay. The nearest town is even a 15 minute drive away. Because the food was so expensive, we basically stayed at the pool and ate at the outdoor bar/restaurant. Allbeit expensive, the food was very good and the portions were enough to fill us up.

Room Tip: Request a room close to the main lobby if you don't want to walk. Resort is sprawling and rooms...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to host you and for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. We genuinely appreciate your insights and learning that our staff and resort grounds left a lasting impression with you.

We are excited to announce the new Phoenix Premium Outlets, opening April 4, 2013. This outdoor shopping experience will add over 90 luxury and upscale brands as well as several dining options to the Wild Horse Pass area. Our destination has longed for additional amenities to offer our guests and we think this is the perfect fit.

With our resort’s complimentary shuttle service to and from the Phoenix Premium Outlets, Casino and Rawhide Western Town we think our guests will truly enjoy our secluded yet easily accessible destination.

Once again, we would like to thank you for sharing your review. We hope to see you again.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Sanstead
