I know going to a casino that I am not going to come out ahead however it is nice to win something to keep playing. I was done in a little over an hour..... And believe me I spent quite a bit. I am platinum in Vegas so I gamble quite a bit.

“Rawhide Needs a Revamp”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

A masochist's delight. Decades ago when it was in Cave Creek, it was lot of fun for kids and amusements where accessible. Now, in its new location (and now as an adult), I have to ask what was I thinking taking a five year old there?
There was barely anything to do for kids under 7...couldn't go in the bouncy house, due to seemingly very tall requirements, couldn't use the climbing wall (unless over 50 lbs), everything cost $4.95 to do but half were not open or available of the few choices there, once you have driven all the way there. The Stagecoach ride offered no historical info or narration (six minutes on a sparsely decorated path of old coaches and a weird half-bald mannequin; pretty horses though - I do not fault them), $5 even to open the jail for a photo.
Everything was overpriced, the staff indifferent (I waited ten minutes for lemonade with no other customers in line. The cashier was out and the other guy apparently could not pour or ring), and really just not fun for anyone not even the workers.
The one gunfight show we saw (at $4.95 each person - you have to now pay to get in the "theater" and it isn't on the streets of Rawhide but on hot sweltering bleachers), was reenactment of Buffalo Bill pursuing and shooting a drunken duo around town, one of whom is female and is being kicked in the stomach and punched by the male at the start. It was so inappropriate and just plain weird and kind of scary for the little ones. It wasn't for kids, certainly not fun to see. The actors tried and admiration for the stunts I guess, but the script stunk and seemed totally tone deaf at a child audience. No one was laughing.
Overall, the experience was just a bid dusty bowl of waste devoid of visitors and staffed by many who do not care what they were offering or how. It was certainly not-customer oriented and tone deaf and I would never go back or recommend. There is free play area for kids inside, but it is small. Once you have paid $5 to park (which is ridiculous because the only reason you would be in the lot is to go there, you just keep paying by fives. Maybe if management tried just a little bit to make it better versus just being there, it would be worth going.

“Band Banquet”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

An old western town, complete with gunfights. It was fun to watch the kids try to ride the bull. Lots of interesting shops.

The food for the banquet was okay, but not memorable.

“Family Fun Day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

This is a fun day for the children (ages 4-12) and for anyone who enjoys being with them. This is a replica of an old Western town with shootouts, "incarcerations" of children, mechanical bull rides, panning for gold, burro rides and a rock climbing wall, etc. There are old time stores and places to eat--even sarsaparilla! There are a couple of wild west shows complete with the sheriff and "bad guys". This is a fun place to take guest in addition to the family.

“Good Place to Take Friends”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

If your friends are from out-of-town and especially if they have kids, Rawhide is fun. The only problem is the restaurant is not as good as it once was. I think it's worth it for the experience. Prices are reasonable.
