A few days ago I was craving sushi and decides to try out Ari. I got the California Roll to go and it was delicious. Although when we went in to pick up our sushi it smelled strange and unpleasant, the woman who checked us out was not too nice either, so I suggest picking it up. Delicious sushi though.

Ordered several items, very fishy smelling, spider roll not edible, sent it back, just generally a poor experience, took a few bites of simple items such as maguro and shrimp, tasted very strong, took a bite of spider roll, spit it out, was sick all afternoon with a very bad stomach after eating there. Server was very nice as was the sushi chef, but the fish is not sushi grade and smells strong. Will not be returning.

We are not regular Asian food folks. We hang out in Mexican Restaurants. That said, we really enjoy Ari when we are in an Asain mood. Love their Hello Peno, and many other things on the menu. Stuff seems fresh. Like the tempura veggies. Never had bad food or bad service there.

We have been to Ari several times now and this has become our "go to" sushi place in Cave creek. The service started out a little rocky but has improved over the moinths they have been opena nd has been just fine the past few times we were there. They have a huge selection of specialty rolls, yes many of them not really sushi but fried or cheese presentations. However there are still quite a few "true" sushi options and they have thus far all been good. Our favorites are the Cave Creek roll and the garlic yellowtail roll. Niether truely traditional with one having crisped garlic slices and one with flame seared green onion but both delishous! Also some of the best freshwater eel we've tried.

Now if you are visiting from Seattle or San Fanncisco, no, this will not be the same as what you are used to getting there. However for Arizona, and especially far North Scottsdale/Phoenix options, this is the best I've found so far.
