“Value for Money”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

We came across this hotel on a recent road trip. It was reasonably priced with a beautiful breakfast included. The hotel was clean and very well equipped. There is a nice pool and hot tub and fitness room. Lovely reception area and plenty to do in the area. We were only booked for 1 night and stayed for 3 to see Tombstone, Pima Air Museum and Teton Missile museum.
Only criticism, housekeeping did not re-supply tea and sugar each day, we had to keep asking.
Everything else was perfect and would recommend this as a stopping place .

Room Tip: ground floor with sloped roof and no-one above

This location is your basic Best Western, not any frills but then again staying at a BW location you probably dont expect any.
Rooms are entered from the outside, so people who feel safer staying at a hotel which you enter your room from the inside of hotel may not want to stay here.
For the price, the rooms were perhaps a bit outdated, but clean. The television was on the small side. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room, and when traveling I like to be able to have cold water available to me, so that is a plus.
The front desk staff were friendly. The pool was nice, especially when in the hot sun all day.

We had to use a few extra BW points to get this hotel because it is a Best Western Plus. Couldn't quite find the plus. Nothing wrong with the hotel--just that it is no better then other Best Westerns that don't have the "plus". rating. We got in late and left early, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool. It did look nice, however. Maybe that's where the plus comes in.

The room was good. A clean bathroom with a nice large counter area. The king size bed was comfortable, clean and passed the bed bug inspection. Familiar looking Best Western carpet that might need replacing soon. We were there on a Friday night and our second floor room was quiet.

The staff were friendly. The breakfast average, but good enough to get us started. Worked well for what we needed and we would consider staying again.

Room was dated but reasonable clean. Air Conditioner, suffered and groaned trying to keep up with Western exposure and Arizona sun. It was an older below window unit that rattled. Room amenities were OK, bed was great, but overall the furnishing were budget class or below (think small screen old tube television - molded plastic tub and shower etc... Would probably stay again although there are newer and nicer hotels nearby for same price. The hotel staff were professional and helpful. I did not try the breakfast as there was a Denny's next door. The free newspapers were appreciated.

Got this hotel through bidding on Priceline. Assumed the hotel would be very nice since it's a Best Western & the original prices are high considering the location. Our first impression was that the hotel clearly used to be owned by another lower hotel chain. There is no elevator & you enter your room from the outside (indoor hallways would be nice in the hot summer especially). Also the breakfast room is actually two hotel rooms that have been converted into one room. You don't hear too much traffic because there are fields on both sides of the hotel. You still hear more traffic than at newer hotels.

The rooms were clean & the king size room also has a couch. You can tell the rooms have be updated. The refrigerator and microwave are convenient. The only complaint is that the water pipes can be loud & you can hear if your neighbor is taking a shower. However, the walls are thick enough that you don't hear your neighbors. We had a room overlooking the pool & palm trees. We used the spa & listened to lots of birds that live in the trees. At least you don't hear the birds at night. The hotel also has a gas grill by the pool that you can use. A nice amenity if you don't want restaurant food. In addition, there is a small exercise room with bike, treadmill, elliptical, & some weights.

The woman at the front desk was nice & check-in was quick. During breakfast, there was a lady who made sure things were stocked. Breakfast options included: make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, pastries, bagels, juices, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, scrambled eggs, & sausage.

I've been staying here every 2-3 years for the past 15 years. This place has not only held up but improved over the years. My only criticism: housekeeping can't seem to recognize when you're out of some basic things, like Kleenex, shampoo, etc. Had to ask almost everyday for one of those items during our last 5 night stay. Other than that good housekeeping and maintenance.

The pool has now been heated I believe since it was very warm in March when normally it would be quite chilly. I've never seen the outside area, or any other area, dirty or poorly kept. Get a ground floor room opening to the pool courtyard if you have kids who swim. If you prefer quiet ask for a back room. (Farthest from the pool and courtyard)

The beds, bedding, and towels are all above average in my opinion. Staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable.

DO shop rates for this motel. Best deals can usually be found online, but not always - sometimes it pays to call the motel directly.

Room Tip: Back rooms for quiet, poolside rooms great for watching little ones.
