This course has more trees and grass than you might find on many desert golf courses. In some areas the grass could have been more well trimmed. The greens are a good size and in good shape (few ball marks). There is a wide range of tee boxes to hit from - so well suited for long hitters or those who want a shorter hole.

The proshop and starters were fantastic - courteous and helpful.
The complexe and course are unfortunately a bit rundown.
Layout is pretty straightforward but variety and length of tees offer challenge opportunity.
This course does not offer a 9-hole rate, nor a junior rate. Book online for best green fees.

The design is classic golf, not desert target golf. I like that, but for peak season, the course is on bad shape. Tees had not been mown, greens were bumpy and tons of bare spots in the fairways and what is supposed to be fringe. At $40 it's a good deal, but they are letting a good design go to waste. Poor shape in early March is scary, hate to see this place in July.

The Francisco Grande resourt was originally built as the spring training home for the San Francisco Giants. Standing all alone well out of town, it included a hotel, restaurant, and the golf course, in addition to the baseball fields. Baseball left when the Giants moved their camp to Phoenix in the 1960's. But the resort and golf course remain. This is a very reasonably priced, links style course with plenty of grass and trees. You'll almost forget you're in the desert. An enjoyable place to play a round of golf.

We logged our golf reservation on golfnow.com. We got a
great price $17, and an uncrowded course. The course was in
great shape. The staff was friendly and the starter got us out before our tee time.
