Both courses in very good shape. All 12 golfers in our group were quite pleased. Nearby Troon North filled out our rotation nicely. We found the resort itself to be dated. Rooms and lobby could use a makeover.

Came to town on business, brought my wife for a few days before my trip. Based on past stay, we decided to see if any rooms were available. Not only did they get us in, they remembered our room from last stay without even asking. Cancelled other hotel in town. This property is magnificent. Quiet, tranquil, all the above. Service impeccable from the check-in, breakfast, golf cart gentleman to take you anywhere you want, room service, pools, spa pool and more. The casitas make you feel like you are in a townhome vs a hotel room.

The spa services were top of the line. Very helpful concierge services as well as bell services. Beautiful property, clean and easy to get around. Overall wonderful experience. We -- and others -- had a bit of a hiccough upon registration. The co-ordination of cleaning and maintenance with check in's was bait of a problem for several parties. Expect to pay premium. This is not an inexpensive resort or spa.

We loved being out in the foothills and having the view of the boulders. The hotel's lobby and pool are rather dated. They have 2 pools but both are rather small by comparison to the typical pools at other Scottsdale hotels. The service was very good and it is a more adult/quiet atmosphere which was nice. We stayed in the presidential suite. The room was nice but we did notice a "well water" kind of smell when the room was closed up so we tried to leave our sliding doors open more. It was a spacious room and we loved the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Nice spa and great places to hike in the area. For the $ I felt it wasn't as luxurious as other Scottsdale hotels (Phoenician, Fairmont Princess) that we stayed at but the service was very good and we liked the location. It is about a half hour or so from Scottsdale

We've spent 5 nights at the boulders. The resort and the area is absolutely stunning. It was definately a holiday of a different kind! The rooms are nicely done and we enjoyed our little patio and the fireplace in our room a lot (it gets pretty cold out here at night time). The spa is lovely and they offer everything you need. The staff are mostly friendly and professional. The concierge tried to help us with all our bookings and arrangement as much as they could. Too bad that a lot of stuff that we intended to do during our stay turned out to be fully booked, like river rafting (due to a lot of corporate events in the area) as well as the rock climbing offered by the hotel. So if you want to be active you better make sure, you book ahead (2 weeks was obviously not enough). The rock climbing is quite expensive at the hotel but it seems that's everywhere out here as other companies outside had similar prices. The bikes offered by the hotel spa are charged with usd 50 for 4 hours and can only be used within the property, we enjoyed it a lot as the property is stunning but it's a bit overpriced. The pool was a bit dirty throughout our stay, i once saw one of the waiters at the pool attempting to clean it but it still remained the same afterwards... The biggest dissapointment overall was definately the food. The selection in all restaurants is very limited and the food (in particular the breakfast) repeats in all restaurants. The bakery that they speak highly of for breakfast, didn't have any fresh bread or pastery (shortly after they opened), it's very casual and somehow doesn't fit for a waldorf astoria hotel.

Loved our stay at The Boulders. The resort is quiet and surrounded by unbelievable views of boulders and desert. We were there as a couple, but it would be a great family resort too. The pool is great. The golf was great. The service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this resort.

This was our third visit to the Boulders. This an absolutely gorgeous property with incredible natural landscapes. We stayed in a three bedroom hacienda that was increbile in terms of space, furnishings and room. The staff was all genuinely freindl. Now the issues. We arrived and they had no record of our package which included a daily resort creidt. The front desk asked me to prove that that is what I had booked by sending me an emailed copy of my reservation. The next day, I called reservations and they said the same thing. It was only when I contacted the manager on duty that they found the information on my booking and they profusely apolized and sent us a nice welcome gift. Next issue was the main pool- absolutely filty. It had huge five to six foot wide splotches of mold on the floor and a foamy scum floating on one end of the pool with balls of hair, bandages, paper garbage floating. We tried the pool once and never went back. I reported the pool to "Maria" who was the manager in charge and never heard back. The last issue was not with the hotel but with the restaurant they sent us to in the Pedegral complex that Boulder's owns. It is Burgo's the pizza restaurant. The way we were treated there, even if it was spring break, was shocking with the owner screaming at my wife when she asked about our order and when it would be fixed. The GM of the resort returned my wife's call when she contacted her. I don't know what they will do about it but she seemed concerned. We are on the fence about going back but the property is so gorgeous and the staff tried to do everything that they could, except for the lack of follow up on the pool.
