Visited here twice in past few years. Mine tours are led by former underground miners. Definitely the best mine tour I've taken. I'd suggest doing it soon since these old miners who give the tours won't be around forever.

The Mine tour was one of a kind. It really gives you a look into the mining industry and how much time it took to get the copper and other minerals that mine had to offer. Our guide actually worked in that mine and gave us a first hand look into the experiences he had as well as how he had to work in the mine. His name was Sonny and was excellent. I loved this tour, it is a little chilly in the mine so bring a light jacket, I am claustrophobic but did not have a problem in this mine, the tunnel in is close to the train but not so close that it is confining. The gift shop is awesome, there are some really neat rocks and jewelry to buy there.

The Copper Queen mine tour was very educational. We were supplied with raincoat, helmet and light. It made you feel like you were a miner going into the mine. The guides were retired miners so that made the tour more interesting as they had the expereience of working the mine.

This tour provided the opportunity to go down a genuine copper mine. It was easy because you actually ride down and back up so it is not strenuous. Tour guides are retired miners and ours was very informative and was able to answer everyone's questions. Dress warmly - its chilly at 47 degrees. Claustrophobic people do have an opportunity to leave early on, so no worries there. Very decent gift shop, too.
