“Great patio and Wonderful Pizza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

We stopped here for an early dinner on Saturday night. This was the weekend for the Bisbee 1000 stair climb so every place in town was crowded. We were seated on the patio right away but understandably had to wait. The host was quick to get us a drink and apologized for our wait. We had the antipasto and the Spicy Mother Chicken pizza. The antipasto was very good and well presented. The thin crust pizza had buffalo chicken, gorgonzola, ranch dressing, green onions, mozzarella and celery. It was very good. I would definitely come back.

“Not a Place for Pasta!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

We have heard from so many friends what a great pizza restaurant was the Screaming Banshee in Bisbee, Arizona, so we decided to try it. The problem, however, is that we should have tried the pizza.

This is really a cool restaurant, a make-over of an old gas station. From the hostess to the servers, they were all friendly and made you feel welcomed. They prepared the pre-dinner martinis just fine, shaken the 15 times that we requested. We were off to a good start.

We began with the small version of the “Fancy Salad” which was both huge and excellent. The salad contained a nice mixture of organic spring mix, combined with honey chipotle walnuts, feta cheese, artichoke hearts and grape tomatoes all mixed in delightful raspberry walnut vinaigrette. This could have been a meal in itself.

The wood burning pizza smelled wonderful, but we had a desire for pasta. I ordered linguine with clams and my wife ordered spaghetti with meatballs. Very nice presentations in a bowl, but both of our pastas were not warm at all. My pasta arrived with small shrimp and not clams, so it was sent back only to return with clams and mussels, with the linguine still not warm. My wife sent hers back because the spaghetti was not warm only to have it returned with very dried spaghetti. Oh well, we simply realized that this was not a place to come for pasta. Without requesting it, the manager did remove my linguine from the bill. I respected the restaurant for doing so.

Will we return? Absolutely, as it is really a fun place, only that we will be ordering pizza the next time!

“So close...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

The menu is awesome, they have lots of interesting things on it. Our appetizers and drinks were good, but this is a pizza place and the pizza was pretty disappointing. It was doughy/undercooked, and the sausage was just meh. We were sitting close to the pass and we saw a waitress checking the bottom of the pizzas coming out for doneness. They still chose to say "good enough" and serve us an under cooked product. I think I found that much more bothersome, than if they had just bobbled it. We didn't send it back because it took a surprisingly long time. On a plus the apps were good and the drinks really reasonable priced. The atmosphere was fun and funky.

“DELISH!”

Whoa, the flatbread homemade pizza was absolutely the best! Incredibly good. The roasted garlic on crostini was excellent as well! Cool place!

“Outstanding lunch! Dinner not so much.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

Stumbled into this place by accident after driving most of the day from Silver City. It was Sunday afternoon and the front patio was overrun by Pirates (must have been Pirate week or something.) Thr Pirates saw us and our two little dogs looking confused and welcomed us in. They seated us and our dogs on the back patio. Just the fact that we could bring in our dogs and not have to leave them in the car was a big plus. The very friendly watress brought them some water and gave us menus. We ordered the No Bessos baked garlic platter, the wings and some stuffed peppers off the appitizer menu. All three were world class, especially for Arizona and it was the perfect amount of food for two. TThe pesto and alsemic reduction that came with the garlic platter were to die for. After we checked in to our little cottage we were too tired to go out so I called down and ordered takeout. We had a Pizza, a salad and the anti pasta platter. If you have never had Pizza in New York or Chicago or San Francisco, this is what passes for excellent Pizza in Arizona and you will probably enjoy it. I'm afraid I'm too jaded. IMHO it was edible but that's about it. The anti pasta had no dressing and it was just an assortment of stuff. The salad was just a salad, what can I say? would we eat here again? In a heartbeat, just not the stuff we had for dinner.
