My husband and I are avid bird-watchers and hikers, and we thoroughly enjoyed our five week stay in the Fiesta Moon bungalow from the end of February through March 2018.
The location turned out to be a perfect location for many wonderful day trips, including: Cochise Stronghold, the Chiricahau National Monument, Cave Creek Canyon, San Bernardino Wildlife Refuge/Slaughter ranch, Whitewater Draw, San Pedro House, Coronado National Monument and Ramsey Canyon Nature Conservancy.
A block away from the bungalow is a park that I enjoyed walking around in the late afternoons. On Saturday morning, the park is the location for the Bisbee Farmer's Market where one can get fresh produce and meat and regionally prepared food.
A 10 minute drive will take you to the historic, downtown Bisbee, which is worth a visit or two. My husband and in-laws enjoyed doing the Mining tour there.
As others have reviewed, I can concur that the Fiesta Moon bungalow is delightful lodging, with cheerful southwestern decor, a well-appointed kitchen for cooking whatever you like and a comfortable living room and bedroom. The Arizona room is perfect for relaxing in during the heat of the day, and the bungalow also has an open deck for enjoying the morning sun. BTW: The heating/cooling system works well as does the DIRECT TV and the wi-fi.
But what stands out during our 5 week stay is the wonderful hospitality of Matthew, the on-site manager. He made us feel welcome from day one, was knowledgeable about the area and never failed to ask if there was anything we needed during our stay. We fell in love with his little dog, Ethel, whose antics provided us with daily laughs. If we return to Bisbee, we would not consider staying anywhere else.
This vacation rental was truly a home away from home in most respects. Really liked the colorful paint job outside and southwest decor inside. The Fiesta Moon bungalow isn't heavily carpeted in order to keep it dog-friendly. Other than that, real comfy. The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked with all manner of utensils and cookware, along with spices and key things like oil to cook. Also baggies to take your lunch out. Even the bathroom is stocked in the medicine cabinet with a first aid kit and things like alcohol spray---good also for cleaning glasses! Matthew and his friendly little dog Evelyn live a couple bungalows away, so he's easy to reach if you need anything.
The benefit of being a short ride from downtown is that it's nice and quiet and is also flatter, so anyone who doesn't like climbing a flight up stairs to their rental only has to go up about 5 steps here.
Only a couple issues we had: the bed is rather soft, which can be an issue for those used to a firm bed. I was tired enough that I got used to it after the first day and slept ok, but still would prefer a firmer bed. Also, the shower, while having an adjustable spray head, mostly seems to be angled for a person 6' tall....it seemed to not angle down quite far. A more adjustable head would help.
This location is great to be near Bisbee, a reasonable ride to Tombstone (which was fun to visit), and also Hereford, which is good for birding activities.
All in all, I would say this place is good value for your money. Also, Matthew is very friendly and provided some things we asked for. He even replaced the used towels after a few days when we were gone, which was a nice extra.
