At 7:30 pm on the 20 August 2017, my wife and I drove through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel and entered Whittier, Alaska! We had arrived for our 4-night at the Inn At Whittier! We had a great room on the third floor overlooking Passage Canal. The view was breathtaking! The room was clean and well maintained. Very spacious room with king bed, table w/chairs, sofa, and other furniture and still lots of room! Clean and nicely arranged bathroom with shower stall and jacuzzi tub! The staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute we checked in until we left. The bar and restaurant were beautifully finished with high ceilings and wood throughout and plenty of window seating to enjoy Passage Canal and boats entering and leaving the harbor! We had to great days fishing with Crazy Rays and a third day to enjoy Whittier, the museum, gift shops and a walk down the trail to shotgun cove! Great 4-nights and 3-days at The Inn At Whittier! Thank you!

The day when we arrived at Whittier, all cruises were cancelled because of rough sea and bad weather. As we had already booked a night at Whittier, we had to stay overnight and catch the train back to anchorage next day. Todd was without hesitation and suggested to get a friend of his to take us to see salmon run. It was about a 5 min. drive from the inn. It was a good surprise.
Good value for a room with a view. Basic room furnishings. Friendly staff. Pleasant experience.

Beautiful woodwork throughout. Planned on staying 1 day and ended up staying 3. Price for room made it worth staying here and driving to Seward even with the one-way tunnel $13 charge. Easy to get around, in-house restaurant, small pub. The best Inn (hotel) I stayed in the entire time I was in Alaska. Staff offered great suggestion and discounts on things to do.

I will be back.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of Prince William Sound.

This place is great. It is right in the middle of everything. The staff was fantastic at check in. They even gave us a room upgrade. Everything was clean and neat. The restaurant had some very tasty dishes. We stayed August 17/18

Upon arriving we immediately decided we wanted to spend a second night and the staff went out of their way to rearrange other reservations to accommodate us. Whittier is one of the most beautiful locations we've ever been to. The scenery is beautiful and the hotel is part of it. The restaurant has excellent food. We had 4 meals there and they were all excellent. The rooms could use modest improvements but they are very nice. Things to think about:
Its Alaska....don't order hamburgers!!! Restaurant food all over the state is more expensive than in the lower 48. The prices here were somewhat mild in comparison. There are a couple of other restaurants but we didn't try them.
In much if not most of Alaska hotels don't have air conditioning. You won't need it
There are no fridges in the rooms
Choose a ocean view room!!!!!!
Bring a raincoat. Expect some soft rain but it won't ruin things. Seeing Whittier in the sunshine would be a sight!
Take a glacier cruise.
The Alaska Brewery draft beers are very good
Go fishing!!!!
Although there is a museum you can explore the entire town in a half day and you can walk everywhere.
Be prepared to take a few hundred pictures. Keep you electronics fully charged

Room Tip: Ocean view room port side third floor
